if she's including Irish accents with the video title "British Accents", she may as well throw in American, Canadian, Caribbean, Indian, Australian, and a bunch of others...

no, Great Britain is not equal to The Empire or Commonwealth. Read http://en.wikipedia....g/wiki/Great_Britain

Found Deals and Discounts / $3: lifetime free upgrade & tech support!
« Last post by Curt on June 20, 2014, 02:58 AM »
I have never before heard of this product, so I have no idea if it works or not.
I also do not know if the "lifetime free upgrade & tech support" license is worth anything at all.

-----------
Message modified 5 minutes after first posted: A voice in the back of my head said it would be a good idea to follow one of the links I have given here - so I did. Turns out this is a draw which includes something called "Twitter"; only 30 winners will get the $3 price. I am sorry; I didn't know this when I first posted.

why invent the wheel again?  The list of German software makers is pretty long - download similar programs and install them twice; once per language.

I am not trying to start a thread about abortion...

The "CAPs only" FONT used in this photo is really nice, I think,
but I don't have it on my PC!
Can you tell me the font's name, please?

For amazon, i look for used books that are basically just the cost of shipping.

-I too used to do this when Amazon's handling + shipping fee was much lower than now - from my office chair I can see a handful of shells full of books from Amazon.  However, the method really doesn't work when the book is a dime but the shipping is $17.50 - and the seller never has more than the one reasonably priced book, that I want.

----------

The Internet prices on ebooks is nothing but greedy fraud.
Internet ebook customers, unite!
1282
This is old time style: In my Internet browser's toolbar, I have a button that goes straight to my Amazon account's Wishlist. Whenever I come across a book that I would like to have, I click that button. Once in a while I will go through the list and spend some time surfing for other vendors. I used to just click "Buy" at Amazon's, but last year they more than doubled the "Handling & Shipment"-rates, so I have stopped buying at Amazon's. The last book I purchased overseas would cost me $17.50 (plus the book) to have shipped to me from  Amazon USA. The same book at Thriftbooks.com was less than $5 for handling and shipping!

---------------

Thank you, Peter, for your thorough review. Just like Google, Amazon is a huge business, and therefore without conscience, or forms of "neighbourly love" - yeah, apropos, English The Corporate Language cannot translate Nächstenliebe properly...

(...) Another example would be Flashnote (that I have pleaded for several times here at DC's forum). After several years I am still on my FIRST note, because I want Flashnote to stay absolutely basic and simple. Hit the hotkey, Type/paste your text, and it is already saved!, and hit the hotkey (or Esc) again. End of story! ;-)

Found Deals and Discounts / Re: AudialsOne on offer
« Last post by Curt on June 13, 2014, 05:19 PM »
I was visiting Giveawayoftheday and stumbled upon the latest Audials giveaway. Curiousity made me click the "buy"-button, and to my surprise I was (by mistake?) offered the same discount as was offered when the giveaway was on:

http://www.giveawayo....com/audials-one-11/
=> click "Purchase an Unlimited Audials One 11 license (with support and updates) at a discount price"
and get it at $27.60
Audials One 11 electronic US$ 59.90 (including tax/VAT) Discount US$ -27.06 Total amount: US$ 32.84 [includes 19% sales tax/VAT to US$ 27.60: US$ 5.24
1285
I took this offer back then, "of course"! Today I stumbled upon my license key for EasyHDR version 2, and was curious to see what it would take to update the old almost-free version to the new version 3. So I pasted bundlelytic's "donation for UNICEF"-email address (and a certain part of the old license key) into their box, and to my surprise it was accepted - and I was offered a 60% discount!!! Using PayPal, the new key was automatically given to my own email address.

JustManager still lacks SFTP support, right?

yes, it does, and it is not the first thing on his to-do list.

---------------

Can I please ask about Altap Salamander file manager: Is it true that it doesn't have "Cut" (move)? The feature is not listed, even though basics like Rename, View, Edit, Copy, Move, Delete are listed. It sounds odd, not to also have Cut.

General Software Discussion / Re: Quizo QTTabBar updated

... the old plugins should still work.
-sorry, I was wrong! The features from the old plugins are now incorporated, of course...

-sorry, I was wrong again! Many of the old features are not included, and most of the old plugins does not work with this new version. So I have already removed version 512, and am back to 1.5.0.0.b2. Quizo has so to speak turned to the left, where I wanted things to go right - so even though I was in love, the wedding is off.

The new QTTabBar is not yet my favourite, to say the least. As I said on the other thread, (https://www.donation....msg356503#msg356503), new users and users like me are left "unattended". I find there are far too many new questions to ask before I can expect to have this app working to my liking.

As an example: In general I hate shortcuts. Of course they are brilliant - we wouldn't want to compute without them! - but I keep forgetting their combinations! And as such, (forgotten), they are worthless to me. Of course the number of shortcuts in the new version "512" is a witness of many features, but to me it's also a problem waiting for me, because Quizo has not explained anything. I don't understand the words in half of the choices I have to make, so I hope there is a user's forum somewhere, but I have not yet found such.

Why am I whining? My reason is of course that QTTabBar has been a love of mine for many years, but now parts of it are not even friendly!

Now bear in mind that this is not a file manager, but merely an extension for Explorer:

It has now been 13 months without a word from the young "ShiningMasamune", and I find it safe not to say, I don't trust updates are coming, but to say, I trust updates are not coming.

One can say Quizo not made it easy for any one to understand what went on. I am now guessing he simply don't want to debate in English (https://twitter.com/QTTabBar is Japanese only). But English or not, he is updating his program!

http://qttabbar.wikidot.com/qttabbar is the new black AGAIN. Sadly it is also too black. New users are completely left unattended... abandoned... There is no help whatsoever of any kind. Maybe that is one of the reasons that there now is a 3½MB zip container named "Source codes and Plugin Lib". So what about it, reader, are you a coder?
 ;)

At the top of the homepage there is a line saying "Create account or Sign In". It has really nothing to do with QuizoApps, but is for wikidot.com only.

and here's the wide-ass response...: use http://www.linuxmint...m/edition.php?id=158

I don't remember Pale Moon crashing, and I don't know how to make it do it at my command, so instead I restarted after 400MB of the 1.2GB Mint download. No problem, the download went on as if nothing had happened. Can I crash Pale Moon on purpose?

Well, that's what can happen in the hurry I was in. Sorry!

The above button number "6" was what I thought I was showing:

Free PDF Tools 6:
Add Header and Footer

This FREE PDF Tool can add header and footer information that is used to present information, such as date, time, page numbers, or the title of the document, in the top or bottom margins of a document.

There are options:

You can add header, footer or both.

You can decide whether the header or footer is shown on the first page.

You can decide whether the page number is shown automatically.

You can add some text string before or after the page number.

You can adjust the alignment on the PDF Page and the page offset if you want to begin with higher or lower value.

You can change the text string's Font Encode,  Font Name, Font Style, Font Size and Font Color.

You can define the left, right, bottom and top margins from page edge.

You can resume the options from last saving.

Here are the steps on how to Add Header and Footer into PDF Pages:

  • 1. Choose  Free PDF Tools > Add Header and Footer
  • 2. Select a PDF file that you want to add header and footer.
  • 3. The Add Header and Footer dialog box comes up:

Back in 2007 you were using PDFTK, maybe you have also been using their PDFtk Server? I don't know these apps, so I am not sure if they even can do what you ask for.

... the more advanced PDF Text Replace Tool...

I remember trying to test this one on 64-bits Win 7, but couldn't make it work. I now see it hasn't been updated since August 2010, so I wonder if it is worth the asking price...

It hasn't been mentioned in our forum for several years, (probably because it wasn't updated for 4½ yrs), but now (since 30 January 2014) the calculator SpeedCrunch 0.11 is out of "alpha", and is ready for your keyboard, while looking good at the same time! If you are anything like me, you will understand to appreciate the included formula book!

http://speedcrunch.org/
http://speedcrunch.blogspot.dk/ ("dk": I am in dk, but the server is in USA. Will you be redirected?)

Oh-Eleven brings you syntax highlighting on the result display, predefined color schemes, instant function usage help, digit grouping, new languages, a slightly redesigned formula book with new sections, lots of visual perks, and a new icon. You can now include comments in the expression - everything after a question mark (?) will be ignored and highlighted differently. Finally, both comma and dot are now accepted as radix characters.
-SpeedCrunch 0.11

Their site is fancy looking, I guess -
click one of the upper icons (exe, dmg, zip):

Hello from Zamzar !
There was a problem converting your file - We attempted to perform the conversion you requested from wpd to pdf but unfortunately the conversion failed.
http://www.zamzar.co.../convert/wpd-to-pdf/
-File upload complete

-so I went and installed Free Viewer; it is surprisingly good at reading wpd files. It read your original wpd file without major problems; it was very much like your uploaded pdf file, but Free Viewer can only save as Doc or RTF, not from WPD to PDF, sorry.

I have maybe 3000 fonts, so I was embarrassed to see that your uploaded wpd file's fonts are not being displayed properly (but your pdf file did not provoke such errors):

But apart from converting via RTF, I am unable to convert your uploaded file into PDF.
