Living Room / Re: XP Hangs on Shut Down
« Last post by lanux128 on June 08, 2010, 03:27 AM »
noticed this option here, the "Clear Pagefile at Shutdown". could you have run any optimiser/boosters that might have turned this on?

When this option is enabled, it causes the system pagefile to be cleared upon clean shutdown. This takes considerable time of the Operating System to flush-out the pagefile, thus causing the slow shutdown. You may disable ClearPageFileAtShutdown option to improve shutdown times. But the pagefile.sys will be intact and accessible via other Operating System, in case or dual or multi-boot.

And no, even though .dk is member of the EU, we opted out of the €uro and a couple of other things.

in hindsight, it seems to be a very good choice.

Just out of curiosity, is DKK 500 very much money - or are we talking something like a nice lunch in Aarhus?

about US$80, according to google. btw, aren't they supposed to be using the Euro?

It also seems to skip over Save Settings and hangs on Windows is Shutting Down

did you mean to say that UPH Clean is skipping the save settings? in any case, create a new profile and use that profile to shutdown/restart so that we can isolate if it's a profile problem or a hardware setting gone awry.

i had been trying to make Chrome more accessible in my daily use, ever since i found out that it streams youtube's video much faster than Firefox.

plus for those concerned about privacy can get the UnChrome tool (posted by MilesAhead here).

yes, same here.. over time, i found that i preferred coop gameplay over PvP in most of the online games. in fact, some of the PvP are becoming much of a twitch-fest. :)

i don't play much MMORPG but there are always temptations abound such as this maximumpc report. :)

Sauron, you might want to grow another gigantic, flaming eyeball to watch your back, because you're about to make a bunch of brand new enemies. Why? Because this fall, anyone and everyone – graphics cards willing – will be able to play Lord of the Rings Online for the same price as developer Turbine's other wildly successful MMO, Dungeons & Dragons Online. Which is to say: absolutely nothing.

You may not be able to, though. Apple apparently has limited the number that you can own. They only accept credit cards to purchase one, and they keep track of WHO owns them. Privacy implications aside, it's really a dick move to pull.

this is getting too, quote Alice, "Curiouser and curiouser!".. ;D

it's Simple Machines (SMF). why not try search in their forums, there might be a mod that does that..
