Thanks for the carefully prepared briefing. Explanations are seldom as clear as this!

Doesn't work with notepad.
Just captures what appears in the window, minus the last line

One thing people could do to help me is see if scrolling capture works AFTER you go into your windows display settings and turn off Aero Glass theme (select something like Windows Basic theme).
On W7-64 it's even more disturbing under Classic. The window just sits there flashing. Great if you want to induce an epileptic episode but otherwise...

Holy Smoke? I don't think I'd want to shell out for that!
1285
especially when you have to ask everyone you meet the same questions!

That faithfully mimics real life in my case ... the first question being "Who am I?"
Drives my wife nuts, especially as the second question is "Who are you?"
1286
I could change that, but I'm not sure it would make you any happier ;D
No, it's fine for me. It's rather like my car, I can travel further once I remember where I last saw it.   :)

I've added some small changes to WinSendKeys, so the -v commandline parameter can be set from the (optional) ini file, and updated the documentation with all settings that can be configured in the ini file.

More good stuff!

It works very nicely for me now that I realize that my .stro file needs to be in the folder with WinButtons and not in the sub-folder with WinSendKeys.
I'm calling the .stro file from a button with
command1 = -send -f PSnewLayer.stro -v [CLASS:Photoshop]
which finds WinSendKeys in the sub-folder but not the .stro

Clearly, I have as good a grasp on this as usual. I wonder, how ever did I manage to earn a living?

Holy Moses, you don't waste any time do you?
That's amazing.

Thank you very much indeed!

Off to download now, all you have to do is sit back and wait for the dumb questions to roll in  ;)

have you seen [url=https://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?topic=26648.0]Scrolling capture is not working
Yeah, thanks Tomos. My intention was only to report what's happening with this beta. (It's the same phenomenon in IE9)

Other tools that I have for scrolling captures also munge the result at screen/page splits in FF.

1291
The extended crosshairs solve a long-standing problem for me where, because of the background grey that I use, I couldn't even see where I was.

Scrolling capture in FF7 creates a series of 'cuts to black' and results in a single image; it does nothing that I can see in IE7. I say this in the full expectation that I'm missing something, I'll have to go back and look at the videos, but in case it's happening to anyone else.

I wonder if the DisplayLink driver is playing a role here.

Ath,

I have a friend whom I'd like to set up with a MIMO and the fruits of your labour.

I'm thinking that will need either a couple of days of setup, while we figure out habits and needs, or some kind of Procrustean utility that can auto-generate a fixed screenful of buttons then loop through each one, requesting:
application contextfilepath
a captionforced formattext
an imageforced formatfilepath
executablefilepathparams
keystrokeskeys
the problem with the latter being subsequent editing for omissions, errors etc.

Does that approach make sense to you?
1293
@Ath Has this one been covered?

Is there now a way, or what is the best way to send a series of key strokes, then a delay, then another series? Or a series, then wait for an event, then another series?

I tried a couple of ways but obviously haven't understood the correct method.
I want to: -send [CLASS:win] key key… <delay here> key…
in this case would <delay here> be -xd 1000, or can't it be inline like that?

With -f, is it possible to have more than one .stro file by simply using a different name for each?

(Don't forget to post a photo of your 10" screen when you've set some buttons up.)
I mentioned that I looked at the 10" screens but I decided against one — for the time being at least. Now I'm glad that I did: the 7" screen seems just right for the job.
I've yet to decide whether or not I want more than very basic graphics on the buttons. Colour groupings, probably, but icons/images — not so sure.

I was up most of the night working on this, trying to see what I could stitch together but I think I finally found the ideal button layout.

Simplest would be to *only* configure the path to WinSendKeys in WinButtons.wbuc
Great! I had no trouble with WinSendKeys but that saves explicit pathing in each wbuc. I used to know about this but I've forgotten everything, did I mention that I used to know about this?

So, a semi-colon marks a comment. Is there a block-comment syntax? (Doesn't matter if not).

Everything's rolling along just fine. Now I have a simple-to-program, context-aware touch-screen controller with as many (or few) buttons as I need in order to drive just about any mainstream application.

Have you configured WinSendKeys? The path is probably different.
Yes, I managed to get the right path. That's one out of ten so far, I believe.
Nice job on those templates

@Cranioscopical: You'd better update your WinSendKeys, it's an outdated version that had this 'additional info' feature :D

Thanks! I ran the updater and didn't pay much attention  :-[  To make matters worse, I see this was discussed near to the very beginning of the topic. For a modest fee I'm prepared to go away and leave you in peace.

@nudone

I was trying the template you posted.

Whether to Photoshop or to Illustrator, any key action causes a debug dialogue like this

WbutIssue.PNG

to appear. Clicking OK dismisses that and then performs the action.
This is with CS5 on W7-64.

Any ideas?
