That's a really interesting idea.
I've always wondered if FARR might make a good program for companies to install on employee's computers with pre-configured applications and aliases.

And this is a neat idea for that -- would be fairly easy to add your requests.. I think I will add them.

In our first week of operation (actually merely days), we had 3 real-time false-positive reports. *2 OF THOSE 3 WERE FIXED _AT_ OUT FORUMS* (one by Trend Micro, the other by Symantec). We are very proud of the security companies who have stepped up to the plate to mitigate collateral damage wherever they can. Many or most major security companies are monitoring the forum.

That really is a huge achievement and fantastic news.

I'm having a little bit of trouble following what exactly is happening.

Are you saying that you are copying images to the clipboard, and CHS is ignoring every other image copies to the clipboard, even though all images are being copied to the clipboard by the other program?  Or are you saying CHS is grabbing something, but not the right image?

Sounds like a fairly simple bug to track down if i can get my head around what's going on..

Can you try a test? Between triggers of the image copy that you are interested in, if you select some text in another program and ctrl+C to copy it to clipboard, does CHS then get every image?

And can you verify in another image program that even though CHS is ignoring every other capture -- that your megastar program is actually copying every image to the clipboard?

Screenshot Captor integrates with the uploader tool ZUploader -- but that doesn't support Picasa (yet).

You could ask the author of ZUploader to add picasa support -- he has expressed interest in hearing feature requests and watches that ZUploader thread.

OR, if you can find a commandline tool to upload an image to picasa, you can easily interface that with Screenshot Captor and add a tool menu item for it.

One thing people could do to help me is see if scrolling capture works AFTER you go into your windows display settings and turn off Aero Glass theme (select something like Windows Basic theme).

This is an important update for windows XP users who install version 2.102.02; just install it over old version and it will automatically recover your backup myalias.alias file of your custom aliases, if (and only if) the main one is blank because of the mistake in the previous installer.

Note: It is important that you not go into options to examine your old myaliases file before running this, as that might cause your backup alias file to be blanked.  I apologize for any inconvenience.

Version 2.102.03 - Oct 4, 2011

• [BugFix] Restores previous custom myaliases.alias.bak file automatically if it was erased by previous installer bug.
• [MinorFeature] Better backing up of alias files after editing.

wow i really messed up this latest farr release..
it seems i accidentally created a blank myaliases.alias file in the setup distribution, and it will overwrite on install on any XP machine.
if you use XP and FARR and updated and have created custom aliases.  go to your Aliases/MyCustom/Myasliases.alias file and make a copy of your myaliases.alias or myalias.alias.bak file and hopefully you still have a good copy of them.

do this BEFORE you go to your myaliases alias in the program settings!

i have fixed the installer now for anyone who updated from here on.

i'm so sorry i hope i didn't end up erasing anyone's aliases

I may have spoken too soon, microsoft windows is being totally irrational about disabling aero stuff and things that should work do not.

Note the lack of close button, minimise button, program identification or anything else.

this is a bug that i think is fixed in the new version -- i apologize.  normally you would also see a button saying "click to visit find+run robot webpage to download the new version"

and thank you for pointing out that i am stupidly not showing the name of the program that the update refers to in the titlebar.

ps. you can turn off automatic update checking in farr, it's in the options somewhere.

This has now been added -- see the help files for help on using the "sendkeys" command in an alias result.  You can send things like Ctrl+F, function keys, etc.

Hi raishade, you don't sound impolite at all.

It's an interesting idea -- maybe i can add a search function to search in aliases.

But actually your idea of using a separate program to search alias files is a good one -- one could use existing text file editors/searchers to search and edit farr alias files pretty easily, and configure one to be launched using the farr toolbar.  That's a very nice idea since sometimes it's hard to remember what alias file an alias is in.

Have you edited the configdir.ini file and uncommented the line PORTABLE=TRUE
That is needed to run FARR fully portably.
