if you're filming me without my knowledge/consent...then you're violating my privacy.
As wraith points out, here in the UK we are constantly surveilled.

Oh well gee wiz...I guess if it's the new normal then it must be just fine then ... Not!

It's one thing for a business to put up cameras - most of which are on either a closed loop, or just have shit for storage. They are static and reasonably avoidable. It is however quite another thing for some individual who arrogantly thinking their entire waking life moment by moment is worth documenting decides to include me in their home movies. Then they end up on some LEO's radar, who want's to "talk to" everyone on dipsticks movie...and I get flushed down the rabbit hole with them.

No... That is not acceptable. And once it gets explained to said errant fool it is going to come down to a simple question of which one of us is about to use what method to turn off that camera ... because the camera is about to get turned off.

And not all people that use glass are using it inappropriately... I'd dare say, most of the ones that I know are not using it in any way that would intrude on anyone else's privacy.

Given the potential for complications if one was to show up in the wrong persons video diaries ... I would be in favor of jamming the feed. Because if you're filming me without my knowledge/consent...then you're violating my privacy.

You're filmed everywhere you go pretty much.  It's not as bad as the UK, but one of the first things the police do is to look for banks, ATMs, and Convenience stores in the region near any crime because of that.  I think it's bad form to actively film someone without their consent, but again, the bulk of the people with Glass that I know don't do that.  And I thought about getting it for development purposes, but it's way too much for what it does.

The local Harley Davidson dealer lets one of the idiot kids behind the parts counter wear the Google glasses while on duty. So far the kids been lucky as I haven't run into him when I was in the right (wrong...) mood. However if those stars do ever line up...it ain't going to be pretty.

Limited series of 31, (March has 31 days), DC mugs.

Numbered, (x of 31), signed, and custom-designed by various graphically orientated people here at DC, (count me out  :D ), to be given away as the results of many/one competition(s) - the coveted number 1 being the big prize, (and possibly the biggest mug).

March has 31 days yes, but this is a programing/software form ... So mug number 1 is - or should be - the second one. making for a limited run of (x86) 32.

General Software Discussion / Re: Code into image files

What type of payload are you trying to find in what kind of image? Are you trying to spot hostile code coming in, or sensitive data going out?

The question is way to general to try and answer properly.

Even money says the "label" is a Trojan. :D

Seems like way too much trouble, making a Trojan email, just to infect someone.      Weren't the first viruses sent via email?

Don't most folks have spam/virus filters?  Pretty weak scheme.  I'm disappointed.  ;D

Quite to the contrary, this technique - which is a variant on hacking the user - cleanly circumvents all of the security software on the users machine by peaking their curiosity to the point where they simply just shut it off.

You see the modern operating systems and software have become secure enough that direct attacks are too costly (in time) to perform in bulk. You can't just attach a naughty file and have it guarantee-ably go boom when it hits someone's inbox ... So other methods have to be used. These methods focus on the weakest link in the chain, and the weakest link is the user.

Banks, mortgage companies, tax records, shipments, money transfers ... These are all common hot topic items that are likely to cause someone to rush through resolving a seemingly really important "problem". However if the resolution actually just leaves you filling out a fake form, that then makes a fake problem go away ... The fact that you just gave all of your personal information to some hacking group in a foreign country will most likely go completely unnoticed until one of your - hundred or so - alter ego's defaults on a loan...

Many of these type of soft target attacks also leave you with a bonus key logger (and etc...) as a totally free "parting gift" to see what else you might be inclined to share.

You see the whole point of the exercise is to be obvious as hell so people get cocky and say "Ha! that was stupid" ...Because that way their confidence will ultimately work against them when the one that isn't quite so obvious (because you really were waiting on an X...) shows up and bites them in the ass.

Security is a practice that must be adhered to at all times ... It is not something you install and then blindly trust to just work.

Not mine but I wouldn't mind taking it for a spin…  :)

This has a Viper 8.0 litre, V10: develops >500 BHP  8)

Interestingly prophetic choice of phrasing there ... Because if one snaps the throttle open on that thing it's going to "spin" alright ... Axially...

Much like the BossHoss, it's a highly impractical (for show only) Trailer Queen.

If you really want to go that fast, just buy a Hayabusa ... Your chances for survival will be much higher.

Right, because even though the shipping company couldn't find your house...they magically managed to find your Email address ... Not!

It has this feature called PAN (personal area network) but I don't know what the hell it does nor how it works.

PAN isn't a feature, it's a description of the Bluetooth network type - as opposed to LAN or WAN - a PAN has a maximum range of 3 meters ... Hence the Personal Area part of the name.

FWIW NFC (Near Field Communication) by design relies on Bluetooth to do its file transfers so you may have some luck exploring that angle.

Man, I used to love that thing ... I think it was called F-note (short for file note).
It was just a context menu item that showed up for all files that would put an empty text file with the same name in the same location as target file.
I search for find it. Do you know the official site or any other site to find it?

Sorry man, I wish I could tell you...but I don't know where to find it either.

 I read this post last night, and STILL can't see any use for this type of thing lol  Anybody wanna explain how this would be remotely helpful?  I mean...It shaves like 2 seconds or 2 clicks from doing it manually (By either creating a new text document then copypasta the name into it, or type the name manually...)

It's a matter of convenience true, but when it is something you do frequently - extra X clicks * 100 - then it becomes quite handy. Back when I did a lot of downloading, I liked to leave myself a note with the particulars of a download that I wasn't likely to have time to investigate soon. This was necessary since many of the things I download could make a rather large mess is set off accidentally.

Hi guys, before many years i have use a tiny free utility that creates a text file from any windows file.

Man, I used to love that thing ... I think it was called F-note (short for file note). It was just a context menu item that showed up for all files that would put an empty text file with the same name in the same location as target file.

AbteriX's solution looks like a hit, as it will produce the same result.

If you wander by the local Humane Society, you might consider stopping in. Our local HS (where I volunteer) frequently has many cats of all ages ... And it's not always the pet that needs/gets rescued.. ;)

+1 to both of the above as contagious anxiety infects both sides (cops vs. parents) causing the situation to escalate when they each start to play to their respective audiences.

not sure what year - late 70's, early 80's

Side A on a 45 ... That's gotta be early to mid 70's tops. ...And another bad sign (that dates it) I suppose would be that I like it. ;)

some people Say men who ride Hondas also ride other men lmao...

Adds a whole new meaning to "Taking it like a man" when you're in the position where screaming like a girl seems "appropriate". ...So now that that's gone way too far...

Seriously, even though those in my crowd tend to say Rice Rocket with great derision. it is both well known and understood that they are quite good at what they do. I worked in a motorcycle junkyard straight out of high school back in the early 80's. So I spent plenty of time turning wrenches on all of the offerings from the big 4 in Japan, the Britts, the Italians, HD, and some others I don't recall at the moment. Honda makes a damn fine and very well designed engine ... You'd do well to rely on one.
