UPDATE UPDATE

Skywalker (old drive) has transferred his belongings to the Enterprise! (New Drive) and is now bunking next to Data (partition for data)

Hit a glitch after wiping old drive as I forgot to change boot order and deleted wrong system from BCD

Anyway all good now after a boot repair and the Enterprise is up and running at Warp Speed!

Thanks to DC and especially stoic and 4wd

Now you can 'rest' until I need guidance for my Linux install!

Have amended EasyBCD so my 'old' install is default and skips boot menu (for now) - nifty program

Here's pics from Bios:- Everything works but.......... Maxtor doesn't appear as a bootable device (pic 2) and can't change? (pic 3)

Okay - couldn't change bios to boot from Maxtor but used EasyBCD and iReboot and booted into old drive no problem!

I see letters have changed now I'm on old drive...

Will check bios now to see if it's changed? Will take pic and post....

Step 2 - unplug IDE HDD while installing Win7 to the SATA - should be easy for Mum now!

Question: Do we unplug Maxtor from Power Supply and MOBO?

Houston we have lift off - with everything recognised!

Connector 2 was a bust.... Now HDD SATA is in No.3
