However, I did notice that today there seems to be more spam than usual making it past the registration process. I have no idea why this is happening, though.

yeah.. the amount of spam in the last week that we have to delete has gone through the roof.  it boggles my mind how this can be profitable for these spammers but it seems like they are impervious to logic or reality.

we may have to take extra steps to automate the blocking of these accounts.  i doubt the accounts are being created automatically (though they are most certainly being posted to automatically).  it sounds like we need to put in place an extra step or two to stop these spammers.

The alpha version is now working.. Needs a ton of tweaking and error reporting but it does work.

I *agonized* over the user interface for this tool, and in particular how to solve a nasty dilemma involving batching operations..  I hope the program is usable without driving people insane.

I'll be making a screencast video to show how to use it.

It's too late to send back to Amazon, I've checked

In the past when i've sent something back to amazon past their return date they still accept it but charge a 10-15% restocking fee -- might be quite acceptable to you in this case.

Please do not suggest I try anything further with this horrible touchscreen

i like torturing nudone so i will suggest another.. devices which like to suck lots of usb power may behave better on a POWERED usb hub.
If you haven't yet tried connecting it to a powered usb hub, that might be worth a quick try.

Note 1: Remember to BACKUP your launchbar files occasionally, when doing this kind of fancy stuff.
Note 2: Definitely figure out how the menu type "Contents as root-level" items works.. It can be very useful when you want to create a *group* of items that is shared between docs or menus, but should still display as if they were not in a group/menu.

Just wanted to post a solution that DC member App103 provided for an error someone had installing Screenshot Captor on Windows Server 2008:

<dcmk001> After installing Screenshot Captor on my MS Terminal Server 2008R2 I get a system error “The Program can’t start because STI.DLL is missing ….” I reinstalled and still got this err. Any advice?

This is a system file and not a part of the Screenshot Captor application.

This dll is normally located in the system folder on XP and Vista, but is not installed by default on Windows Server 2008.

Sti.dll is a component for Windows Still Imaging and provides a means of programmatically acquiring digital still images from cameras and scanners.

You can install this component by installing the Desktop Experience feature using Server Manager.

To do this, follow these steps:

   1. Click Start, click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Server Manager.
   2. In Server Manager, click Add Features under Features Summary.
   3. In the Add Features Wizard dialog box, make sure that the Desktop Experience option is selected.
   4. Click Next, and then click Install.
   5. After the installation process is complete, click Close, and then close Server Manager.

Note After you install Desktop Experience, you have to restart the computer.

When I clicked on the link node in my quick-links dock I was expecting the associated dock to be displayed just as if I clicked on its icon in the notification area or if I typed the hot-key sequence for it. What does that make it?

that makes it a different kettle of fish..

so basically you are simply asking for a button that can toggle dock visibility/minimization.

i should be able to add that somehow.

I guess the question is -- what would it mean for a dock to be the child of another dock? Do you mean that you want the child "dock" to be treated as if it were just a child menu?  Or behave like root level items? Or do you want it to behave like a dock.. and what would that mean?

Possible bug: I'm unable to make a link to a "Node Type: Dock". A link to a "Node Type: Command" works fine. That is, a node of type "Link" with a "Link to Node ID:" of a Command node works fine but with a "Link to Node ID:" of Dock does not. I would like to have entries in one dock point to other docks.

A dock cannot be a child of another dock.. so that would be a problem.

What exactly are you wanting to do?  Do you basically want to embed the contents of one dock in another or in a menu?

I could add support for that.. However there is a way you can do it now with a workaround.

If in your dock, you create one menu node and put all of the dock's content under that, and then set this menu node to be of type "Contents as root-level items", you basically get an invisible top level menu that contains all children, even though it has no user interface effect.

This will let you share this "virtual" menu node in other places.


As for your suggestion, that's a good one.. I just have to figure out a good way for LBC to be able to know when to do that.

Could you also add a little tweak - perhaps add a configurable hotkey, which when used... shows the running programs immediately. (ie. without typing anything at all.)

just go to farr hotkeys tab, add a new hotkey entry, and have it start out with fprocs in the search box.

Well I was just about to post a new thread about PontyPool, a very cool movie and radio drama -- when i did a quick search of the forum and discovered that 40hz mentioned it earlier this year:

If you like We're Alive, check out the indy film Pontypool.

I just saw PontyPool a couple of days ago on Netflix streaming, and I *really* enjoyed it.

I'm happy to say you can also listen to the radio drama (it's actually just the movie's audio track, slightly re-edited), for free online: here.

There's very little to see so I think makes a great radio drama.

OK first things first, I will try to help you get this working for that card cutter -- if it requires coding a new way to lay out cards i will add that.

I just need to wrap my head around how you need the cards laid out.

It sounds like you need the layout to look like

1st page
1 11
2 12
3 13
4 14
5 15


2nd page
6 16
7 17
8 18
9 19
10 20

is that right?

and that's because, you want to feed multiple pages in and let the accumulate on the 2 stacks, is that right?
