they used to be quite decent, i hope they haven't stooped to pushing their anti-malware suite down the users' throat. fwiw, MSE is a much better option for me nowadays.

yes, that script was originally made to be pasted in the active window but in your case, the reserved characters should be excluded.

The following reserved characters are not allowed in file/folder naming: ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) + = ~ ` < > : " / \ | ? *

Find And Run Robot / Re: What hotkey(s) do *you* use to trigger FARR?
« Last post by lanux128 on June 23, 2010, 09:37 PM »
I've been using the Apps key (the one that brings up the context sensitive menu) in combination with a modifier for invoking a different tool recently.  I just looked for a way to use this in FARR but didn't find one.  Has anyone else had any luck using it?

i know the AHK way if you're interested.. :)

Code: Autohotkey [Select]
  1. AppsKey & F12::
  2. ; Launch Farr now!
  3. Return

@thancock20 and joby_toss:
can either of you post a screenshot of the error message (if there is one)? also can you edit the INI file and put the browser path in quotes like this: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" and let me know what happens?

in the meantime, i'll post a newer version with thancock20's fix into both versions but i'm just curious as to why it doesn't work. :)

1235
that's strange, i can't re-enact this error on my PC.. furthermore you've got the quotes and all in your registry, i'm not sure why it doesn't work for you. however it's good that you found a solution for it. :)

in that case, it might be faster to write a batch file that closes Farr and launches your game and later when you're done playing, do the reverse.. :)

btw i noticed that there is a recent patch for this game. among the issues that was fixed is "a rare crash during the loading sequence". i wonder if your game is already patched?

it is strange that your game crashes with Farr running in the background.. did you launch the game with Farr? also what is your PC specs and does your copy of Dirt 2 has the GFWL account set-up properly?

in most cases the .htm and .html filetypes are already given arguments in enclosed quotes like this "%1" (see pic). e.g. "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -requestPending -osint -url "%1". if you don't mind, can you check in the Folders Option and see how it is configured at your system?

Alt+Space (system menu anyone?) and Control+Space I avoid because of conflicts with other things that I've been using for more than a decade.

i had the same problem and i mentioned this some time back.

Nice to see I am not the only one who likes co-op play.  I have never been much of a PvP player online or off.  Maybe occasionally with friends, but not in general.

what co-op games do you play, any recommendations?

This NirSoft utility might be useful for managing the context menu and extended context menu.  Haven't tried it yet myself though.

+1 for this tool. been using it for some time. it was helpful in snuffing out the spam WMP installs in the context-menu for the media files.

That sounds like a virus. :(

i thought so too, maybe some malware got into hosts file and created the redirection. in any case, i'd go around his cubicle this Monday to confirm the infection.
