This morning I can't deleted an exe file.

Do you know tools to delete or kill any process without reinitiating ?

Ask google about "unlocker". It's an application to delete locked files, and offers the option to delete on reboot.

Apparently the "unlocker" I have been using is discontinued, but is still available on many sites. There is also this new one called IObit unlocker (http://www.iobit.com...n/iobit-unlocker.php) but that one I did not try.

Eleman I have revised my pc and in the past I used both programs.

with good results both but with a must reinitiation.

Hi Contro,

I use "SuperF4" https://stefansundin.github.io/superf4/ and "Kill.exe" (can not find the weblink) for such situation.

I use Kill.exe from batch file, as a quick way to exit a running process in my development environment.

Goes well in almost any case.
but with kmplayer don't goes for me. Perhaps something in my configuration. But I can try with another media player.
Also don't work for me with Pspad ( a notepad alternative) .
Works fine for me with windows explorer windows (even selecting the miniature over the the taskbar)
With Acrobat or Word goes well when the window in not maximized.
All my attempts with kmplayer don't go well for me.

Note : For me your answer is pretty good and enough, just because acrobat and word are in the most usual monitors.

Sometimes becomes unconfortable my six monitores when I need less.
The windows explorer windows are memorized in one monitor in particular (something very useful ordinarily) or the kmplayer windows when watching a movie or the browser window, etc.
I would like sometimes have two or three monitors only, but I need to turn on additional monitors to control additional windows.

Exist an utility to manage this ? Able to change the program window position without turn on the corresponding monitor ?

Try a proper working Windows version like Windows 7 or Windows 10, the 8.x range is like Windows SE or Vista: barely any good

I supposed because a little virus I have lost the automatic wifi connection.
Each time I reinitiated the system , fortunately not very often, I have to introduce again the password for wifi connection - even with automated connection marked - ever and ever again...

While I try to discover the deep reason in windows 8.1 for this disconfiguration I would like to have a script in the desktop to login with ease in the wifi connection.

Is it possible and how ?

Never have been free.
But if you download you will have problems with a dll. At least in windows 8.1.

I haven't try under virtual machine with xp.

I am using PBOL to remember recharge the mobile and other uses.
But is not what i am searching.
Suppose you have a target in two hours and other step in four hours, and the last step in six hours.

But you get the first target in one hour and a half. Then the other two target are modified according this.

You can propose multi targets o target depending on each other


It's like a chain  to measure....

The components goes well in word format docx, but the rtf fails in the insertion operation losing part of the formatting of tables.

We can try to combine in the pdf operation or try as a docx file. Nevertheless is impossible for me to remember all these operations.

BUT USING TODOLIST i can document exhaustively all the steps for a dummy like me.

 

The rtf file and the components must be in known locations for every project.
The master document is edited to modify the path to these components before beginning...

But all this is written down in a versatile comment option in ToDoList recommended by Tomos.

This acrobat action works very well. We can process a folder with pdf files to docx files with ease.

Why ? Because we plan to insert those docx files in the master file.

When the master file is converted to pdf we will split the resulting file by content by some pages. The pages where we have to insert new pdf files...

Automate all this in a confortable way will be possible with ToDoList recommended by Tomos.

I will accomplish ordered tasks or subscripts. This type of work is not possible to do in full automated way.

Now the important point is if inserting the above word files in the master doc file goes well or not....

Now I need.....

Programmatically combine several pdf files in one.

Renumber all the pages of the resulting final pdf.

Create a TOC for the resulting pdf and bookmarks.

Define the final pdf to be allways open with the bookmarks active.

Running to try.

Tomos Method simplifying 

Manipulating text splitting a word file in almos impossible. xml files are difficult....
Seems more easy try with a pdf file.
So I convert the rtf file to pdf.
Then i can split in pages.
But seems better try to split by bookmarks.
But the original rtf have no bookmarks. With adobe I obtain a lot of useless bookmarks.
If I do manual I have to create less than 10 bookmarks.
So I did.

SourceForge present several free pdf splitters by bookmarks. But all my trials fails.
So I try pdfsam-basic as open source.

I have 9 bookmarks but only obtain 7 splitted pdf. What happens ?
pdfsam , and I think others too what really does is split the pdf by the page that contains the bookmark. If a page have two bookmarks we only obtain one pdf....

So really split a pdf file by bookmark is a split by a range of pages. Really there is not a extract of text of anykind.

What's next ?

Manipulate the rtf file to make certain each bookmark is in a differente page.
Create bookmarks and try again.

 

This time goes well.
I use the bookmark name to identify the splitted files.



What's next

PDFsam-basic works very well.
I think this in general :
Splitting a word file by bookmarks or strings always will be a difficult operation and the results impredictible when inserting the new files in the master documents , specially problems with formatting...
Splitting a pdf file by content (text, bookmark, strings, ....) is interpreted as split by the page that contained the string.
Commercial software offer specially split a big file recognizing the account number to seperate invoices...

The very expensive engines to combines documents usually uses C#, Java, VB, etc and Visual Studio. But I Think are native documents generating, not modifying that is my purpose.

So the Ath Tomos most simplest way is prepare a little the word document.

I haven't found an interactive bookmarks generator for a pdf file. Only automatic and depending of the target files the results may be not the expected ones.

I will try the new actions wizard from Adobe acrobat DC.

I have observ that if we want to mix is better in pdf format. But usually if we have a TOC or bookmarks from the word file finally we'll lose everything except the last merge or combination.

So I need renumber the final document and generate bookmarks for the final document.

This have been an exercise with one of the documents to be inserted.
I have to do this with about 10 documents. ...

Hm, so in fact the file needs to be split by paragraph, and selected by the paragraph-title.

Do the formula's (images) in the document need to be preserved? Because I don't think I can copy those to a csv file, as that doesn't have graphics support. And if you later need to re-assemble the snippets into a new document, they would probably need to be inserted again.
If this is the case, then a nice Word macro, with a matching specialist in creating that, would be a better choice instead of me (I'm kind of allergic to VB and VBS )

In the last supposition the idea of a csv is abandoned.
We obtain some files splitted.
They are renamed according any pattern I can use later.

If you decide use the csv is now another option.
I can insert in the master document the images and some other lines and do programmatically the rest.
But I think we'll have the same problem with the tables...
So perhaps the best option is split the word file in several by the "epigraphs".

You decide. I think there is a lot of possibilities.
