Note also that while editing the text, it is by default shown in a faster draft mode than when you finish and turn off object editing mode (by clicking the cursor with the Red O on the toolbar); it is only after turning off editing mode that you see what the text box is really going to look like.  That's done to improve the speed of editing -- but i may look into ways to improve this.

You can drag images from anywhere into the left hand thumbnail view, and they will be copied to the SC screenshot folder (you can drag them out of there too).

The left-hand thumbnail panel is a complete explorer-compatible window.  You can drag in and out, copy and paste, right-click for context menu, etc.  Note that dragging in and out should always perform a COPY by default so you dont need to worry about doing a move by accident.

I will be adding an "open in SC" feature -- I just need to finalize the details and make sure it's easy for people to turn off (never was just an option in previous versions by the way).

And what I have done is shamelessly taken Justin's code and modified it slightly to make it a commandline non-interactive directx screenshot taker, and then added code to Screenshot Captor that will invoke it on a target window and grab the resulting screenshot as if it was taken from within the app itself.  I'm just waiting for Justin to hopefully succeed in the hard work of getting it to work on full screen dx10 and dx11, and it will be ready for testing.

Fantastic to see you posting, Justin -- welcome! It's an honor to have you stop by.

My hat is off to you with this process injection/hook stuff -- it's way over my head and *very* impressive work.

And I apologize for the over-the-top ranting on my part -- It's well known I have a very low tolerance for frustration and no one is as good at pushing my buttons as microsoft is

I'm really looking forward to adapting your code to provide a directx capture option for Screenshot Captor -- so i'll be following your work closely, and look forward to hearing about your other projects.

I'm hoping in the end i'll be able to build a little installer that will take care of the GAC stuff for the directx capture, and make that an optional install for users who need directx capture.

This is a very cool article on the science of why certain songs give you chills and goosebumps, using a recent song, Adele's "Someone Like You" as a perfect example.  You can watch a full video of the song here and I'd be surprised if it doesn't affect you:

You're problem is a little harder to identify.. Maybe you can make the text bigger and let's see how it looks when it is at 100% zoom and large text like 48-72point?

Regarding the cut off W, I have two questions:

1. Does the W still appear cutoff when you LEAVE editing mode?
2. Do you have antialiasing disabled completely for objects (see object editing tab)?

What I'm getting at is -- is this bad text rendering only happening when text is in anti-aliasing mode.

Ignore Topic is different from Notify I think.

Given the original question about turning off email notices, I think Ath is right.

More generally, if you go to your profile, in the Notifications and Emails section, you will find a list of all topics you are subscribed to receive notifications on, and you can disable them there.

(The Mark Thread -> Ignore feature Carol is talking about is to really ignore a topic so you don't even see it listed anymore, at least in the new topics lists).

I have to say this is really painful to do without a windows7 machine at my desk.. Vmware is not good for directx testing which means i have to keep walking usb sticks back and forth to the other room where i have a windows 7 directx11 machine.

This doesn't justify buying even a cheap laptop, but if someone happens to have an older but reasonably powered laptop that is capable of running windows 7 and directx11 (that part may not be trivial -- i don't know how common that is) that is sitting on a shelf gathering dust, i'd be very happy to receive it.

Must be a small bug in region capture mode for a full screen app, rather than a directx capturing thing as i initially thought.

Update:

It looks like the c# code actually did work after a reboot after the gac global assembly cache registration.

SO although it's an ugly process to register the assemblies and reboot, I am going to see if I can't hook this into Screenshot Captor as a first test of DirectX capturing.
