iirc there's a registry edit that disables file downloads in Internet Explorer. maybe you can try that.. also set the PC on limited user account.

Already 6.0.475.1? :o  You gotta be kidding me? Those Iron guys are making it hard to stay current.

maybe self-updaters won't be far off. hopefully it will be non-intrusive internal updates..

That was fast.

they have had 8 years of practice.. ;D

btw, just noticed that due to various bug-fixes and patches, the devs are including episode 1 in the downloads so you get ep.1+2 all patched up but downside is the size of the download which is now ~790mb (of which ~370mb is ep.1). the ep.2 only download will be available from next week. on the plus side, if you haven't got ep.1 yet, this is a good opportunity to get them both in one go. :)

in case you still haven't played this game yet, PopCap have released a free browser version of the game. i tried a bit and noticed that the browser version saves your level progress.

however there will be adverts in between levels with messages like this, "Advertisement: Your game will play in x seconds" and the delay increases as you go on.

tip: if you have SwiffOut by ecaradec, you can have your desktop version.. ;)

apart from download size, what's the difference between the high res and standard res download version? has anyone played the high res version for the "ultimate graphical experience"?

The Font Thingie: It won't install... Some 16-bit work-system mumbo-jumbo says its installer. I don't have the win95 compatibility mode on my xp installation for some reason, so can't try it.

fwiw, there's an non-install zip version if you're still keen on it. ;)

This one shows me a list of fonts, but not the names of the associated font files. Anyway, this is better than nothing. It does not let me export the list to a text file, but I can make faststone capture take a screenshot of the list, and put it through an OCR.

that's not so good then.. however try this - The Font Thing. you can browse and add the fonts into a 'collection' (see fig. 1). for each collection, a text file is generated with the fonts name and its corresponding filename in a CSV-like manner (see fig. 2). you just need to change the file's extension to something other than the default 'TFT'.

Font viewer utilities show the names of individual fonts, but I can't find one that can list all fonts in a given folder.

how about AMP Font Viewer? it claims to be able to show a "list of the fonts from a folder with several display options."

Actually I have a test mode parameter that switch to playing in a window. But right now it is a window without border, so you won't be able to move it. But it's really doable.

will you be adding this feature? it'd be nice if you did because sometimes i play the game as windowed with no borders or captions. much easier to alt-tab and check on other stuff.

something like this:

hopefully it was a worthwhile experience, it will be in good stead for any future plans for software retailing. :)

try ClipName which has this feature.

... This new version supports copy of multiple filenames either as a space separated list or as a CRLF separated list. DOS filenames (8.3) can now also be copied as well as the URL encoded name and the UNC name for remote files. Clipname supports a Copy command for filenames without including any path, URL Encoding for multiple selections ...

ok, this is not so good news. as of August 31, twitter has switched to OAuth exclusively and removes basic authentication support from the API. this means the alias cannot be used to post updates anymore, i'll see if i can add OAuth support but no promises.. :(
