Welcome back, CleverCat! Sure we can all understand why you have chosen to use this soft, clever CAT ..  :P - sorry, that really was cheap  :-[

-
http://www.fnprg.com...ftcatplus/index.html
The auto catalog function (and the image function) is for the PRO version only. Did you really start to type your program's info manually? I had a look at SoftCAT but decided that the PRO version is the only one of interest, because typing all these info manually? Not even for a single program! But I do think the Pro version seems to be a very fine program - though I have not yet been ready to pay $30, and with some 300 programs I see no realistic need for the free version.

Show us one of your pictures, CleverCat!!

Yes I did type in manually! Will be buying Pro version soon ;D

You mean pic of desktop?

Might sound strange but...the only programme that never 'closes due to error' or gives any problem as a player is...

Ashampoo Photo Commander! ;D

Great for renaming tracks also - easy as pie...

Gah, I thought at 54-56 I'd be the only old-timer here. What a surprise to see I'm still just "middle-aged" though I have to admit there was a time when I thought "middle-aged" was definitely "over the hill." Funny what a few years'll do to an opinion, huh?

 :o ;)

I find this 'phenomenon' all over the net - majority seem to be 'our age'!  :D

HA!

I snuck that one into a lower category truthfully because of time zones!  :D

I turned another year older today... On the border of one of those... But then again - I was born in a different time zone where today is yesterday! :D

So, if you were to hop back & forth into different time zones...You might never age?

I got Ashampoo Burning Studio off a magazine disk. No mess. no fuss, never gives me any trouble...Just got 6 (I have 5) offered for $4.99! :D

Ashampoo Photo Commander is great too - it's got an amazingly easy renaming facility for any files and it plays audio, video etc and is the only programme I know that can open Photoshop psd files!

Good job us Brits (wherever we are) have a sense of humour!

Is this such a kind of 'external enclosure' you're using?  :tellme: asked the IT-analphabetic Dane:

[ Invalid Attachment ]
A 3.5" USB/FireWire hard disk enclosure

-Wikipedia

More or less - mine looks slightly different as it's in a stand and is upright but yep - that's it!
1114
I have True Image 9 - works fine so........................

I back up to my external enclosure!

Thanks - I love being creative and as I'm disabled and don't get out much, I love pics with great scenery....

My window to the world!  :D

Checked....

I like Acronis new option to image Folders though and write direct to DVD.
1117
Even Simpler ...

Create a folder anywhere you like (e.g. C:\ or even on the Desktop).

Right click and drag all the icons on your desktop to that folder and select MOVE from the popup menu.

Right click on the task bar and go to Toolbars > New Toolbar ... and browse to your new folder. The toolbar will appear at the bottom of the screen and will pop up when you click on the arrow. You can add extra items to the menu just by dragging them to the folder or delete them from the folder as required. You can easily group items int he folder into subfolders.

All this and you need no extra software to do it!

I've done it and like it! Just did it on my friends very cluttered small laptop Desktop and she loves it...

But will try mousers idea... :D

Can't buy on net. - no credit card and SA debit cards don't have required 3 digit security number..

Have got my local pc shop scouting for the new Acronis 10 disk - which they sell for a good price! It's worth spending about R300 ($45) IMHO :D
