Multi Photo Quotes / Re: Pictures shown twice or more at the same time
« Last post by mouser on September 19, 2012, 03:18 PM »
It's nice to hear someone is using it.. Definitely not one of my more popular programs.
I agree, I've been meaning to fix that so that it randomly shuffles rather than randomly selects images with replacement.
I'll try to get a new update out in the next week with the feature.

Screenshot Captor / Re: %num% counter does not function
« Last post by mouser on September 19, 2012, 12:06 PM »
That's actually by design -- the %num% field only goes up when it needs to in order to avoid a conflict with another file name.
But the new version which is about to be released has a separate field you can use to have a persistently increasing counter -- I just put out an update for my FARR program yesterday and expect to have the Screenshot Captor new release out in the next couple of days.

I don't have an easy fix for this, but there is something i'd actually like to test with regard to this -- something that might help.  I will try to prepare a special version to test.

Clipboard Help+Spell / Re: Append function
« Last post by mouser on September 18, 2012, 09:04 PM »
You can already select a bunch of clips and merge them.
And there is the "stack" feature that lets you paste items from a stack in various ways.

You can't however, too easily control the order of merging clips.. One thing I could add is maybe a hotkey that says "merge the currently selected clip with the latest clip.  That could be used to manually but quickly merge a whole bunch of clips interactively..

I hate to be a party pooper, but as much as it may be fun, we should also be thinking making content easy to find and about long term archiving of the content on this forum.  Having topics with no titles (or unhelpful titles) conflicts with this goal.

Hi Vanav,

Sorry it's taken so long to reply.  Is this problem still happening?

Can you explain a bit more what things are working incorrectly?
10865
Since the CTRL-C function works correctly, why not simply have the CTRL-ALT-C function call the CTRL-C function as a subroutine

well see, that's the confusing thing -- it's not like Ctrl+Alt+C has its own independent code, it should already be doing exactly that, they should be sharing the same code and it's hard for me to understand why Ctrl+Alt+C could fail and not normal Ctrl+C..  But I should look into code more to see if there is something fishy i'm doing that could explain it.
10866
I'd just love any clue if you can find it about when Ctrl+Alt+C fails or a way to reproduce the failure.

Have you tried searching the entire clip database for the text to see if maybe its just going into the wrong group?

Hi delgado, welcome to the site

Do you mean combining/merging clips?

Can you elaborate on what you are interested in doing?

I know what you mean about wanting it to auto switch to the New folder.. i've gotten bitten by that before.
Let me figure out if it can be done in all cases or if i need an option for some users.

As for the not always capturing -- that sounds like a real bug i haven't seen.. Any more clues about it?

Good idea.. I can also get more precise production costs.. those are just educated guesses.

One thing this doesn't address is what kind of kickstarter "perks" or stretch goals should be set up.

  • Obviously one perk level will be a copy of the game;
  • Another could be be limited edition expansion deck packs (mixed drinks, thai ingredients, etc.);
  • A perk for large funders could be an immediate prototype copy of the game (inkjet printed) while waiting for final production.

Any other ideas for kickstarter perks or stretch goals?

An initial back-of-the-envelope cost estimate for a potential kickstarter money goal:

Art costs:
  • Art for box, rulebook images, and card backs: $1,500
  • Card fronts: $9,000 ($60 per card/image) - this would be to buy high quality food photos licensed for game distribution, or to hire photographer, etc.
Total: $10,500

Production costs (assuming a print run of 500 or so):
  • 10.00 for cards
  • 00.50 for betting chips
  • 00.50 for rulebook
  • 02.00 for box
Total: $13

Marketing budget:
  • $5,000 (just barely enough to gauge interest in cooking magazines/websites)
Total: $5,000

Grand total kickstarter funding goal: $22,000

Actually I don't know.. I just used to use foobar and am now a very proud and happy Trout user.
Maybe you could ask Skwire to add the feature if it doesn't exist yet.

Skwire, I know what you're going to say: "Thank you for creating more work for me."
You are welcome.

Here's another White Stripes video of them playing live.  I really like it:

Love the sound she gets out of those drums. I'm not a musician so I have no idea what I'm talking about but I know what I like.  I'm reminded of the comments from Kim Deal of the Breeders (one of the greats) complaining about "real" bass players trying to be fancy (skip to about 1 min in):
