Ok, I think that's enough of the negative insults, etc.  It's off topic and it's not appropriate for this forum.  Move on guys.

Drag&Drop Robot / Re: Feature request - mini GUI
« Last post by mouser on November 24, 2012, 02:23 AM »
Your UI is sensible, but makes it a little hard to switch between the full one and yours, so it would be hard to keep both.

How would you feel about me adding a switch that would switch the interface between the current UI and a UI that hid everything ABOVE the commandline field and from under field1 to the button bar, with say a 2 line high file queue?

That would be pretty close to what you are suggesting, but would let me simply have a toggle to temporarily compact the ui, without having to add a separate options dialog and menu.

Kefrey your ingenuity inspired me to finally update the program.

Can you try the new build at:
https://www.donation...ndDropRobotSetup.exe

Consistent with my new build process there is now also a separate portable build at:
https://www.donation...ropRobotPortable.zip

Your diagram made it easy for me to see what i needed to fix, but let me know if i somehow managed to mess up again.

I hope you don't feel like your fixes were wasted effort -- if you hadn't made them i never would have been shamed sufficiently to release an update :)
Obviously I put a thank you in the version history of the program help file, but as an extra thank you, if you make some feature requests I will try to implement them.

I almost forgot about Gadget Friday!

Ok here's mine for this week: An Electric Toothbrush.

I've used two brands, Sonicare and Oral-B, they are both excellent, and I wouldn't necessarily recommend one over the other:

LaunchBar Commander / Re: How to have docked launchbar not take up entire edge?
« Last post by mouser on November 23, 2012, 03:19 AM »
I just figured out I can implement this -- bars that don't take up full edge width/height.  I'll be adding it as an option in next release.

Living Room / Why did it never occur to me.. You can wash a keyboard in water.
« Last post by mouser on November 22, 2012, 11:26 PM »
I'm not sure why it never occurred to me, but i have thrown out keyboards after they got too disgustingly dirty, under the assumption that they were too grimey to get clean without getting soap and water in them..

Then it occurred to me that maybe you could wash a keyboard with water as long as you let it completely dry before plugging it in.

Some searching on the internet suggests that it can be done safely.

Keyboard-2.jpg

So I gave the theory a real test, submerging and soaking my keyboard in a bathtub of water and then power washing it with a garden hose.

By the time i was done it looked brand new.  A couple of hours left in front of a strong fan and then a week left to dry, and it works 100%.

Don't know why no one ever told me about this before..

Screenshot Captor / Re: Timed capture using specified region
« Last post by mouser on November 22, 2012, 11:17 PM »
Ok so if you go to the Pre-Capture options, you will see for the Auto Capture Timer, you can tell it what kind of capture to perform; if you select "Repeat Region", it should always be capturing the last region you selected for capture.

I think that's what you want -- so it will always be grabbing the specific region you first selected.

(Don't engage the delay, that's different from the Auto Capture Timer).

Let me know if that works for you!

personally i think using the bar in this small a collapse is silly once you see how the docking mode works, but whatever..

yeah, i might do that.

though note that unlike my LBC this docking bar does not have a mode to dock and reserve screen space -- it docks and then slides out of the way without moving any other maximized windows.  so it doesn't actually "take up" any screen real-estate when docked.

I've been told it's much too big to be useful.. so perhaps i will try to make a collapse toggle button that will toggle the bar between normal wide mode and a compact mode that hides everything but the Capture button.

As a side note, because Screenshot Captor will refuse to capture an image of the Quick Capture Bar, I had to use the new Easy Screencast Recorder tool to capture a movie of using it and extract the image above from that

Docking is also now implemented -- so you can dock the bar to the top of the screen and it will slide hidden out of the way until you mouse over it.

The screencaster already has a very similar front end, at least in spirit if not in dialog dimensions:
Screenshot - 11_21_2012 , 5_29_18 PM.png

Having said that, eventuallyThe SC Quick Capture Bar will also have options in "what to capture" list to start a screencast, so you'll be able to initiate a screencast from it (as well as from a hotkey in SC, etc.).

Just a screenshot showing the draft look of the new (OPTIONAL) quick capture bar.  It floats on the desktop on top of other apps and you can drag it around.  I may make an option for it to dock at top of screen too.

quickcapturebar.png

The idea is that this might be a more friendly interface for people who have trouble remembering hotkeys.  It also has the advantage of letting you quickly change what to do with the image after it's captured.

Obviously I need to improve the look of it substantially (better buttons, etc.)
