Ah I understand now!
You are repeatedly pressing the HOTKEY to show the quick paste menu.. I thought you were bringing up the tray icon menu.

Ok I can reproduce this now.  I will fix -- though it's not really a problem per se, it is disconcerting.

Thanks for the comments Paul, some replies:

1+3:  I agree that one of those two things should happen.  My intention was to have them be independent settings, so I will try to make the Save As, Advanced quality be persistent.

2: I agree, it is confusing.. It's one of those things where I made an inconsistent decision and then stuck with it.  Perhaps it's time to change that to Quality which I think is easier to understand.

4: I will add the ability to set custom values for preset sizes.

Does it happen with right-click too or just left-click?  Does it happen with any other programs?

Do the old menus that are shown actually "work" -- that is, can you click items on them? Or are they just graphics artifacts left on screen?

Personally I think this is a great idea, almost as if I came up with it myself.

This tool could be used to backup not just installed applications but portable applications.

With the xml config files, people could write and share config files for different programs which would specify which files need to be backed up from which directories.  I suggest that each config file result in its own output backup zip, with the created backup files saved with dated filenames, so for example "FindAndRunRobot_121612.zip".

One can imagine options for how many older backups to save, etc.

Once could imagine that the main UI might have a list of all the config files known, and then let use check and uncheck the config profiles to backup, etc.

So here is the normal "official" NANY 2013 mug design, which remains basically unchanged for several years.


It's nice to have one or more alternative mug designs that people can choose instead of this classic one.

An alternative should be this same size (1662x600), and say the main text somewhere: "NANY 2013" and "New Apps for the New Year" and "DonationCoder.com".

But the image design, layout, contents, etc. can be anything.

My gadget post for today is a water fountain for your pet.

The one I have is by Drinkwell but there are a bunch of different models and there is nothing special about this one:



I don't know why the cat loves drinking out of it so much, but she does -- something about the moving water is very appealing to cats (dogs too?).  They think they are drinking from a fresh flowing stream or some nonsense.

You do have to clean it every once in a while, but it clearly makes the cat happy so I think it's worth the trouble.

Welcome to the site Bob -- It sounds like you are making smart decisions.

The idea of people paying "bounties" to fund the addition of features has lots going for it and seems to be catching on as a way to fund software.   There have been a few threads about it on dc (see here and here), but we should discuss it more.

The way things turned out, we've always focused mainly on MS Windows software here, though the occasionally cross platform or other program comes up..

However, recently I've been thinking a lot about DC needing to be reinvigorated and revitalized, and I've been considering all sorts of possibilities, including having areas focused on Linux, Mobile, Web (Android, iOs), Mac, etc.  That's surely for another discussion thread and not this one, but thought it was worth a mention.
