General Software Discussion / Total Commander and Win7
« Last post by lanux128 on December 04, 2010, 12:10 AM »
i need some help with running totalcmd on Win7 64-bit. this is the scenario: all the files are in the c:\totalcmd folder including the config files (wincmd.ini) but Win7 insists on using the %AppData% folder and refuses to read the settings from the above-mentioned app folder. how can i rectify this? i've already tried running totalcmd as admin but to no avail..

sorry to hear that, i wonder if the underlying LAME dll is the latest.. in any case, i have another suggestion - Free Mp3/Wma/Ogg Converter.

btw, i don't come across much WMA files so i haven't tried this before..

Unfortunately, neither of these work on my computer.  KotOR just plain won't run at all, and Freedom Force is unusable due to a problem with the mouse. Both of these seem to be widespread issues.

what is your OS and what mouse are you using? i have both games and since i'm using WinXP, there aren't any major problems with Kotor. widescreen isn't supported but it scales quite well.

as for Freedom Force, i had to reduce the sensitivity (400-800 dpi) within the game. though my mouse, Logitech mx518 comes with the ability to change the dpi on the fly but the results are not that satisfactory.

As in I find it kinda dull - it feels kinda "German" to me :)

lol, i don't know what that means.. :) for the record, the dev studio is based in Scandinavia (maybe Sweden, iirc).

Lead and Gold is quite a cool looking western themed MP shooter. I have the game and I do like it because...

for the gameplay, among the plus factors for me is that:
1. each class has its own strength, so if you're close to your team-mates you can tap into their strength (called synergy within the game)
2. when you're shot, you go into 'incap' mode then team-mates can revive you.
3. the longer you play, you gain exp. and level up but this is only within the current games session.

however the game suffers from a poorly coded server browser and the glitches hasn't been fully fixed but if you want to play with your (Steam) friends then it's not an issue.

- Braid 10-pack
- Lead and Gold: Gangs of the Wild West 10-pack
- Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale 8 pack

Another example of why I shouldn't buy games at release.  I pre-ordered this one, and haven't played it yet.  :(

If I had waited, I could have saved money!

lol, they had 10% pre-order discount and an exclusive Killing Floor skin.. in any case it's a good game, you should find some time for it.. ;)

also there is a demo if anyone else wants to give it a try..

agreed, World of Goo is so much fun but the "Indie Clever Pack" the other day would have been a better deal. as for The Ball, there is a demo if you want to try it out. :)

hmm.. one more day to go..

Again, I have all of the good ones, and don't want the bad ones :)  I did figure out that the sales are cumulative, meaning that after the 24 hours, it seems that they are adding sales and the old ones don't disappear.

EDIT: It seems to work that way for *some* of the games.  Probably the ones that don't sell that well to begin with.

it's more likely to be a display glitch when the dates change..

check out the 0% off 'sale'.. ;D
