Not me! Tried it for about two hours, the audio API was the dealbreaker for me...
I'll give it another shot when I can get a proper soundcard, but for the time being I'll stick with my copy of XP.

Well... This is a small tool that lets you pick your own screen resolutions for The Sims.
It's is a generic patch, meaning it should work for all versions of the game.

This patch requires a working NO-CD crack.

There's a good guide at the Widescreen Gaming Forum, on which this tool is loosely based. That guide also explains the annoyances you get when you mess with the game's resolution.

Download the tool here.

Enjoy.

This version is very nice!
Thanks.

How are you saving the choice of where the window goes?
Registry?

Yup. HKCU\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\BatteryStatus\Config

the program appears behind the taskbar, can it be made to appear above the taskbar? my desktop has an LBC dock on top and the taskbar at the bottom.
 (see attachment in previous post)

Uploaded fixed version. Thanks for the report.

V 1.1 is out. Added some customization options.
Also moved from the WTFPL to a more 'family friendly' license.

This program is catware/donationware.  If you find it useful in any way, pay for this program by spending one hour petting one or several cats. A donation to the author would be nice, but is not required.

This is very handy, any chance of a censored version of the About text? I'm sure someone would take offence! Cheers

Can’t you change the wording? It’s inappropriate / childish / not corporate-compliant.

What the fuck is not clear in “DO WHAT THE FUCK YOU WANT TO”? If you do not like the license terms, just relicense the work under another license.
-the WTFPL license FAQ

Back to seriousness, do you know any other license that allows as much freedom as the WTFPL without forcing me to release sourcecode?

Congrats on your first app man!
Gotta try it soon.

Excellent.
Thanks.

Ideally I'd like to be able to resize the screen size just a bit.
Sometime just one line high is enough to just see the status.
Maybe right click for a selection of sizes? (command line parameter would be ok)
Can it (maybe by command line switch switch) default to top right?
Can we change poll rate?
Will do

Do you offer ahk source?
Nope, mainly because this is written in VB not AHK  ;)

Let me see what I can come up with...

11. sudo rm -rf /* and then install Windows again.

I was doing a presentation on Sat, and I guess my power cord wasn't plugged in all the way, so I was on battery power. Died halfway thru the presentation in front of 1000 people, and went in hiberation. Bad!!

I use the laptop for audio so they don't see the screen.

I want a small flashing box on my screen every time I'm on battery power so this never happens again.
Anyone seen such a tiny program?

BatteryStatus.exe (101.5 KB - downloaded 70 times.)
BatteryStatus 1.1.exe (144.5 KB - downloaded 34 times.)

Nag me if you'd like any changes.

V1.1 - Added a small mode, and settings dialog. You can now choose display position and size.
Changed to a more restrictive license as per mrmandala's request.
V1.1.1 - Fixed a bug with docked toolbars. Thx lanux128 for the report.

Sidewiki blocker, GPLv3'd

(http://talkbiz.com/blog/what-to-do-about-sidewiki/ seems to be reccomending a pay-to-download script)

i'm curious about Allure, if the patching is done in memory. what will happen when the user reboots with a non-standard theme/style? i couldn't find any info on this at their site.

You get the standard windows theme for a second, and then allure kicks in and you get your custom theme.

I swear for Allure (to patch uxtheme in-memory) and the Foton Compact visual style when I'm ok, and the XXL High contrast colourscheme when I can't see.

Another way to create a batch right off the command prompt is to use copy con filename command.  Then just type in the lines you want "filename" file to contain.  When done, press ^z and you will get the command prompt back. Just avoids all that file append business.  The copy command will do it for you.

The file appending thing is because I like to keep my scripts in a single file :P
You can also make them in notepad and call ftp.exe -s:script.txt ;)

Just for fun.
I would say that... I drink abooout... 10 Bottles of energy-drinks and about... 5 litres of soda / week.

Energy drinks: about the same amount as you do (Red Bull FTMW)
Soda: 20l of Coke (Pepsi sucks)

Yeah, I gotta cut down on that.

ftp.sizzlermgt.com

I doubt that's the problem.
Can you paste the entire script blanking out the login info?
