One of our Greyhounds found herself in another dog's argument <sigh- stuff always happened to her>, and ended up with a number of stitches and associated drains (I called her the Borg Dog). We needed to distract her while we massaged some of the muscle tissue to keep it supple and drained, so we got her on the couch with a bowl of ice cream and fed her tidbits as she got a massage. Of course the other dogs lined up too, but what surprised us was one of our cats, Gracie, also climbed onto the couch arm and patiently waited for her turn. With a little soft ice cream in a spoon, she gently lapped lapped lapped it up, like everyone else in the family. (Well, the dogs tended not to gently lap it up...)
Two Windows XP Embedded products will lose extended support in 2016, while two others face 2019 end-of-life dates, according to the post:
"Windows XP Embedded Service Pack 3 (SP3). This is the original toolkit and componentized version of Windows XP. It was originally released in 2002, and Extended Support will end on Jan. 12, 2016."
"Windows Embedded for Point of Service SP3. This product is for use in Point of Sale devices. It's built from Windows XP Embedded. It was originally released in 2005, and Extended Support will end on April 12, 2016."
"Windows Embedded Standard 2009. This product is an updated release of the toolkit and componentized version of Windows XP. It was originally released in 2008; and Extended Support will end on Jan. 8, 2019."
"Windows Embedded POSReady 2009. This product for point-of-sale devices reflects the updates available in Windows Embedded Standard 2009. It was originally released in 2009, and extended support will end on April 9, 2019."
Then again, mobile devices could still use more of just about everything, as it's harder to fit the more powerful things inside the smaller cases and also deal with heat/battery issues.Bingo. I also have Avast! free. I have also noticed some significant deterioration in my PC's performance over the last couple of months, and last week I also had a message from Win7 saying my antivirus is not working, even though Avast was saying everything is fine...Just for comparison, I switched over to Avast! Free for A/V and ditched MSE. I have not noticed any slowdown, slowness in email, etc. I also refuse to get any of the "Internet Security" editions of anything so maybe that is a prevention. :-)-dr_andus (July 07, 2014, 05:06 PM)
