Living Room / Re: BBM Private Messages Torpedoed in India
« on: April 09, 2012, 12:49 AM »
Living in a city that's been hit by terrorists almost at will, I can't help but be indifferent to the privacy concerns here. In any case, I've always gone under the assumption that the government has (or can get) access to any info they really want. The Indian government doesn't need to use unnecessary fear-tactics to chip away at our privacy either, the combination of their complete ineffectiveness in protecting us so far and a rabid neighbor that has used terror as a state policy for decades, take care of that.

That's it! The final nail in TPB's coffin...

Microsoft has always been a wanker frontrunner when it comes to effective anti-piracy measures. The situation here was hilarious deadly serious a few years back - the guys who sold pirated CDs (pre-broadband days, but they're still around) actually had MS Anti-Piracy posters pasted on their walls with helpline nos. to call for reporting infringements (I'm NOT kidding!)

I'd trolled their helpline and asked the lady who answered how every 14 year old in the city knew exactly where the pirated stuff was available but MS, with all the resources at its disposal, needed me to call and guide them.

Have you tried Google's reverse image search? It lets you enter a custom date range so you can manually work your way backwards.

Except...
I don't see how you could ever identify the "oldest" version file of a digital image.

I suppose web spiders would do this, though I don't use any so can't go into specifics. Also, you asked for something that automatically saves all your activity - I haven't seen a web spider that does this, they need to be assigned a site/pages to leech.

Who recently said something about making people jump through hoops to get some straight info?? ;D
j/k 40, you don't need to explain.  :)

Mandatory on-topic statement (in deference to the periodic auto-correct recently invoked):
Oh dear Lord, please have them fail! Whatever the US does, a lot of other countries end up aping eventually.

http://www.hooeeywebprint.com

looks like what I need, but can it save a webpage like this, with ALL the images of the shoe in full size (as if I hover over them), without me having to hover on each of them to load them even once?

It won't.

272
Take a look at Hooeey Webprint. It's taken the shareware route since I wrote about the beta a year back, but I have a free copy lying around if you're interested.
