Post New Requests Here / Re: IDEA: Unicode-based texter program
« on: April 04, 2009, 06:55 AM »
Phrase content:
{#pasteoptions -method cb}ā
Autotext:
a1
Prefix and Postfix: Default
No Hotkey set.

I'm using paste method "key-by-key" as a default, hence the first macro in the Phrase content, otherwise it's not necessary. For details see the manual. Please let me know.

So basically, you're able to type "a1" and it AUTOMATICALLY converts it to "ā"?
Yes, in my testing phrase typing "a1" and a delimiter produces your desired character. It could be configured not to wait for the delimiter, though, just set Prefix and/or Postfix to "Any".

What was the problem with PhraseExpress? It works with your supplied examples, you just have to set the paste method to clipboard and the target application should be Unicode capable, of course. Verified in MS Word 2003 and Outlook 2003, even in the plain text format.

178
That's exactly how I'm using HotkeyP (again, sorry...), besides other functions. And I don't even need to know the scancode. But you require some eye candy, don't you? Then HotkeyP is out of luck, it's packed with features in lieu of graphical attractiveness.  :P

A bit overkill, but PhraseExpress should accomplish this easily in any program.

I've never had Logitech keyboard (and it's unlikely to change after reading your posts), but I firmly believe that you don't need Setpoint and that Windows built-in generic drivers would do. I got rid of similar product by Genius without any problem, however, according to what I just read, Setpoint is also a mouse driver.

Any experience with this, anyone?

(By the way, congratulations to your 100th post!)

181
And once again setpoint interferes with some hotkey programs.

That's what I suspected. Can you disable it, or preferably drop it altogether? (Unless it performs something inevitable that cannot be accomplished with HotkeyP, of course.)

182
Be sure to have the cursor in the top box and press the key. If it's not recognized then something might interfere. Do you use any keyboard utility? I have a Genius keyboard and I uninstalled the supplied key-mapping utility immediately and replaced it with HotkeyP.

Here's what I use:

May I humbly suggest HotkeyP again? It works like a charm. Thanks for the idea, I just implemented it. I'm also using Shift-Volume buttons for attenuation when a phone call arrives, for example.

Find And Run Robot / Re: Alt+P hotkey broken?
« on: March 11, 2009, 02:12 AM »
Alt-O works, but it beeps. Or is it intentional?

185
... But it does not work in photoshop.

Don't want to intrude again, but it works like a charm with HotkeyP in Photoshop...  :P

186
Oh yes, got it. And you want to trigger such a program by assigning it to the special keys using the supplied Logitech application, right? This might lag a bit.

My idea—and what I'm actually using, just with Genius keyboard—was to replace this application with HotkeyP, which has much smaller footprint and is incredibly more versatile. (I don't know this Logitech thing, but I suppose it's terrible to the same extent as the one from Genius.)

187
It can have a tray icon, but you can switch it off, if you prefer, it's not needed for normal operation.

188
I'm probably getting bothersome with this, but again, if you need something really lightweight and simple, try free and open-source HotkeyP. I've just tried what you requested and it works. Of course it's memory resident, though.

Or, if you insist on registry modification, try KeyTweak, but I didn't know it.

189
That's why I suggested HotkeyP instead of AHK. Is 64 kB small enough?  ;)

190
Everything, what else? Don't be afraid of the latest beta, it's quite stable.

191
Before others here start recommending AutoHotKey, which is nice, but a bit overkill just for this, I'd recommend the free HotkeyP utility. I'm using it for similar purposes.

Coding Snacks / Re: Quick Simple MP3 Player

The simplest I've ever seen: 1by1 — the directory player.

Sorry for bothering with not so important issue, but I can't see avatars of many members when clicking the pin. It applies to myself, but for Darwin, for example, too. It appears that the missing avatars pictures incorrectly point to https://www.donation...r.com/forum/avatars/, thus no picture is displayed.

Anyway, thanks for having the map back!

FARR Plugins and Aliases / Re: KlipKeeper (A FARR2 Plugin by hamradio)

The "kk `" doesn't work for me either on English Vista Business and even with English keyboard selected. (Just the system locale is set to Czech.)

Any workaround how to get to the settings?

Unfinished Requests / Re: IDEA: OCR & paste
« on: February 14, 2009, 01:05 PM »
To belgske:

For capturing standard error popups you don't need OCR, try the free utility CountChars. Not new, though...

196
So far nobody mentioned WinSplit Revolution. Works perfect and it's free. A must for keyboard maniacs like me.

197
There's some registry hack existing, but it never worked reliably for me—it just reverted back after some time.

A free utility RecentFilesView might help. It takes a while before it starts, but I suppose that's the reason for limiting the size of MRU list.

Notice the lack of "Create a video DVD"

Sure, but I didn't have it in the previous (BS2008) version either. Does this option mean that it creates the necessary files and folders automatically?

199
To edbro: Are we speaking about the same version? Mine has this:

Ashampoo-2009.jpg

Downloaded just now according to above mentioned instructions. By the way, thanks kanecitizen!

Just installed. Could someone help me? I can't find any way to simply copy any media, except building an image manually first. Is it me?
