Why not ?

One use for a serie of shots always
- blur the back ground
- resize
- add an border
- add an shadow
- save as... .JPG

an other idea btw: maybe we could just select a few "thumpnails"
and add the effects we make on all selected
rather than only on the current in the main view.

Is this easier for you ?

I know we could see this differently,
but iam no programmer, more an normal user,
so for me is it clear to wrote 10 if i want 10
and not wrote 20 and to divide into several sides (sorry, i have no better english words)

I didn't understand this.
I mean it is the same as you would use "Save as.." or "Send to..."
There you switch not to the save directory, too, isn't it ?

I think so too.

I think we have an working directory (set in the properties)
and that's the default folder for the thumpnails i see.
If user want to see there current save dir (from Name field) they go there on there own.

I think "path \ filename" is a feature only for advanced users
since i know how people "get lost" with there files 

User how didn't understand this way mustn't use this.
Maybe there mustn't be an hint in the help (or only a little)
so only user with experience use this behaviour.

perhaps the MoveTo menu needs to somehow support both
moving files to certain directories
and also switching to certain directories?
not sure how it should present that option to the user.

No, why ?
If you save in WORD you didn't switch there too.

For "normal" users may the standard Screenshot folder be enought.

If you want this however
you could f.ex. make an check box
in this "Move to..." dialog box
that say "open in Explorer"

Just as reminder:

- "Move to..." miss the [New Folder] button

(- is there an need for anyone to COPY instead of MOVE ?)


and
- "Create new folder here" didn't ask for an name
was is no realy matter since we could use F2.


May I say this is an realy good screen cature tool ?
Now even the arrows and text and here we go 
Have you now enought features and 'user-friendliness' or do you wanna collect more ?

If this is easily possible for you

i want to suggest to create new folders with an backslash \ in the file name.


e.g.
[ Name: ] field

i have "Screenshot - 19_08_2005"

i want to add "Test\" bevor "Screenshot - 19_08_2005"
to create an new folder "Test" in my current Folder
and save this file there (or save in the existend folder "Test").

(or even an full path like "D:\this\is\an\Test" ??? )




e.g.
[File Name QuickField]

i want to add "D:\Screenshots\Browser\Opera_%num%"

to autom. create an new folder or save the pics in an existend folder

The ratio between [Name] field and [File Name QuickField] field
in the main window should be alterable if one needs more space for the QuickField.
(on the otherhand: Since the QuickFiels is more static it's not so needful.)

i wanna suggest this two new check boxes:

[X] Auto save        (for to disable the auto save feature one won't want)
[ ] Auto print        (for to automaticly access the standard printer dialog box for every capture)

and maybe
[ ] ASK                  (for to see an dialog box "[Save as...] [Print...] [Cancel]")

i wan to modify my suggestions to optional show the print dialog box:

After a few trials i figured out how it works the way i suggest
(i must deselect "Prev. Ratio" and increase only the direction i want)

i could live with this behaviour, but...
sorry, thats not easy and nifty.

I say it again, and if you don't see the need, pls forget this, iam not cross.

I suggest an special area for resize the canvas in the resize dialog box
(or better an extra dialog box with an extra button)

I imagine something like this:

Unit: [ 12]   ( ) pixel / (x) %
(x) Top
( ) Bottom
( ) Left
(x) Right
( ) All
[  ] Color

would give me an new 12% bigger area on the top and on the right side of my picture.

Right now that works too, but it's not so easy to understand.
Iam think my layout is more clear ( IMHO ! )
If you mean it's enought right now, it should be OK too.

stefan, i think i will add a new dialog with next version
 that is like an all-in-one border thing,
where you can set 2 borders and a custom shadow,
like what you are suggesting,

Thanks but 7MB is to much for me to carry with me
and to explain my friends how it works (and me too???).

I prefer all in one tool as i know many people even never own a image editor.
For such people it is enought to switch on the pc and start word 

But it' O.K. !

since i didn't know how many work it is to implement such features

As text i want to insert sometimes signs from a dingbats fonts.

So i could insert a many shapes and signs.

'cus i don't know what sign is on what keyboard cap
i need an char map viewer to have an overview.

Maybe you could ad an button into your text tool
to be customized
to open my favorite char map viewer ???

Yeah, word wrap works well now in 4.5, 'cus Jan (the Author)
wrotes his own routine for this.
Also he made PSPad ready for UNICODE editing and integrated a scripting feature.

Wordwrap bevor in 4.3.x cames from the editor base modul SynEdit.

and fill the rectangle whit it.

If i made a captur from an app and his opened menu,
i want sometimes to hide the text left and right from the menu.
(an "pipette" / "Eye dropper" to choose the right color
 would be to much, since you support ColorCop, isn't it ? )

Also an text marker function would be welcome (percentage transparently ???).
I mean i like e.g. an light yellow color over an part of my shot,
like i mark an text in an book.

I don't know if that possible...
...but an zoom of the selected region would be nice.

e.g. i have an shot of an window,
i put an selection around an menu item
and choose zoom 2x, to make this menu entry greater than the rest of the window.
No matter if the window near the zoomed box is hidden now.

The user button could be set by user what the most use: B, G, D, BGD of B inside

All buttons with yellow balloon for an description.
[Effe] should open the Preferences with the Effects tab open.
[Keys] should open the Preferences with the Hotkeys tab open.

Just for discussion, what do others think about this.

you could merge them with DOS "copy \b part1 + part2 + part3 Result.exe"
or with "copy \b *.ext result.exe"

- first i copy the URL of a web side from my browser (in th clipboard and into CHS)
- second i copy an text from the web side
- third i copy another text
- and another
- and so on...

- there i choose "Clipboard" and than "New"(group)
- there i have a few new lines on the right side, each for each copy i had done

- i want to select that lines iam just had copied.
(or check an new to created check box "[ ] join" near the "[ ]Favorite" one)
I select or check all lines i want to join into an new clip.

- than i choose an command to join the contain of all selected clips
into that selected clip who is the oldest (i.e. the first, e.g. where the URL is stored.)

Only the first clip should still have the TITLE, APPNAME, DATE or what ever we had set.
From the following clips we need only the containt.
Or there should be an option to store all such META datas from all clips.

[ ] Collector [X] Join ||| "Source - Internet Explorer ||| Source Code: for (i,<5,++)"

5.) i choose an command like "JOIN"

6.) the last [b]two[/b] lines(clips) are deleted and merged with the first (oldest) clip.

to get:

"EXAMPLES - Internet Explorer
www.example.com
Capter 1 xyz blah .....
Source Code: for (i,<5,++)....

Some suggestions:
- the JOIN command could be in the context menu, in the menu or into an button.
- it should be optional to merge the META data (App name, Title, date...) too or not
- it should be optional to join into the first(oldest) or into the last(joungest)
or even in an fresh created clip
- it should be optional to delete the now unneeded clips
- it should be optional to have n-blank lines between the merged clips
or user defined lines like =======/\/\/\/\/\/\ ::::::::::::::::::::::::::----------------------
or not.

- BTW the [X] Collector check box is an another idea, i hope the function is clear
