hello!

do you have in mind or can find a very good cv template?

i get to realise that most employers like tables and boxes and bullets and numbering and bold fonts and stuff, an overorganized text, that would be easy to read with just an overview

at the same time, there is too much info that i dont know how to organize, for example for a previous job:

1) what position you had
2) what is the name of the company
3) what is the work sector of the company
4) how much duration you stayed there
5) from when till when
6) where was located

all these 6 points must be in a consice header, easy to read, but its too much info

afterwards ofcourse, the duties will follow

any suggestions?

General Software Discussion / removing all the touch-oriented features of Windows 8

hello!

I want to move to Windows 8, given it's more fast, etc, but why should I install an OS that supports touch devices, since my desktop hardware will never (well, at least for the next couple of years) support touch screen?

is there a way to completely remove it?

hello!

i am looking to try chrome as a browser, hoping it reached a maturity version from last time i tried it (its first versions)

i want to know if i can do extensive mouse click, mouse gestures, keyboard hit, bindings with actions like:

• hover mouse over selected text = translate text
  hover mouse over link = preview linked content
  right click on tab = close tab
  right click on empty space of webpage = close tab
  hit key 1 = go to previous tab
  hit key 2 = go to next tab
  hit key F1 = open new tab
  hit key F2 = close tab
  left click on tab bar = open new background tab
  right click on tab bar = open new background tab and go/search with the text in clipboard
  drag and drop selected text = open new background background tab and go/search with the selected text
  drag and drop link = open new background tab and go to that link
  hover mouse over tab = activate that tab

are these available?

btw, can i use firefox addons in chrome?

hello!

I often see nice websites, with nice colors, nice organizing, nice fonts, etc

what do i need to do in order to be able to create a website exactly like that, ie. duplicate it?

i was thinking of an rapidly available "font picker" that with one click, identify and save a font type
a color picker
but what about the backgrounds? how they can be saved? the other stuff? scripts etc?
would that duplication be a simple process?

any idea?

hello!

realizing how powerful webpages can be nowadays, where for example you can create an astonishing webpage in pure javascript, I start thinking of creating a 'website' to host my data, that will be only running localy without any server and stuff, instead of organizing my data to a bunch of MS Word files

all i need is:
1) a WYSIWYG editor to create rich text in the webpages like http://ckeditor.com/
2) a chart designer to create dynamic charts like www.diagram.ly or www.diagramo.com
3) a method to organize data in treeview www.jstree.com or www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex1/treeview/index.htm
etc

my question is, in which platform do i make all these to work?

Finished Programs / [DONE] lightweight pdf viewer and editor

hello!

most of the times i open a pdf, i only want to read it and not edit it

that's why my default pdf viewer is sumatrapdf, which is very fast at opening and rendering pdf files, which unfortunately doesnt offer any editing features

for editing, i use nitropdf, which unfortunately is very slow at opening a pdf file

so, i would like to have the fastest possible pdf viewer as default app to handle pdf files (mupdf would be better, since it's the ultimate fast app) and with a click of a button to bring up the editing features (even if I have to wait a bit)

hello!

I want to gather data (text, rich text, diagrams, graphics, files, etc) and organize them for research purposes

I want to have a fully-featured text editor and rich text editor, a fully-featured diagram creator, a fully-featured table creator, a fully-featured graphics editor, a fully-featured file organizer, and all these inside an environment where I can organize in various ways (chapters, treeviews, etc) all that data

ofcourse MSWord is not the best solution, because not only it lacks many features, but also because I will either end up with many seperate files, or with one enormous file, which is cumbersome

can you point me somewhere please?

I lately figured out that there are some so-called desktop wiki programs, that seem interesting, do you know which is the best?

also, which other program categories would do what I need?

when you try to paste a folder in a directory where another folder with the same name exists, WinOS offers you to either cancel pasting, or replace the folder

I would like to have an option to merge the folders, ie. to paste the contents of the folder to the already existing folder, while keeping the already existing files (in case there is a duplicate file, I would like to either replace, rename, cancel, autoincrement its filename, etc)

pdf manipulation is really cumbersome, but I really need to do the following:

- identify text blocks (editable or not), tables, photos, etc (draw a rectangular around them)
- extract them in their original size (for photos) or take a screenshot of them in the best possible resolution

how can I do these?

it must be 100% functional and I should be able to install and work with any linux app
