Some time ago I was talking with some other dudes and the result of the discussion was that speed isn´t important. Now in this thread it seems that the speed is the main thing you´re looking at. What´s up now, do you prefer a big software packet with many great search features or speed?  :feedback:

The winner in the Test was humyo.com.
ADrive was only third.

This is Q*bert!  ;D

I read that a second LHC is existing in Bielefeld - in case something´s going terrible wrong... perhaps they want to destroy a black hole with a second one?

I´m using Altiris SVS http://www.symantec....mp;pvid=sv_sol_pro_1 very often. It keeps my system perfect clean when only trying out games and programs.

I think it´s much better than blender!

I only want you to mention that I downloaded Winmanagement and my Virus-Scanner (AVG) found the Trojan Horse Generic9.BAAW   :o.
Is this a faulty alarm?

;D Go to youtube and search for spore +porn or +dong +penis monster. The inventors forgot the fantasy of the freaks out there.

Mini-Reviews by Members / Re: List of disc catalogers
« on: April 30, 2008, 07:19 PM »
Even the last normal site update was deleted from Archive.org and the last change date of the beta version was 15.9.2001. This is a timespan of  over 6 years. This is shareware, so why we shouldn´t host it as the last resort before a really great program dies? Don´t use V1.1a - it´s too buggy. The only thing I found is a mirror of the last site: http://members.home.nl/drpsycho/

Hmmm, you´ve really tried several catalogers? A lot of them support your feature. Try Lazycat (it´s in the list).

Living Room / Re: Do you collect anything?
« on: April 09, 2008, 03:59 PM »
I have the biggest game-collection in germany - I think: 2 big cupboards full of rarest titles (most of the CDs don´t have a package!).

288
As I told it´s not available any more and the site is down since 2003. I had a link in the giant list of disc-catalogers->https://www.donation...dex.php?topic=7764.0, but it also seems to be dead now. Lazycat is a very very rare, unknown but excellent cataloger and one of my personal favourites because of some nowhere found special-features. I´d say I´m now the only man on earth possessing the version 1.2beta  :D

This version removed some errors from V1.1a

If you want it, give me your E-Mail by PM or try to meet me at ICQ and I´ll post it to you!

289
I´ve read somewhere that there shouldn´t be any limitations, but if you find some, please inform me!

290
Lazycat can perfectly do what you want. It´s one of the best of my disc-cataloger tests. Try to get V1.2beta. It´s shareware but has no limit. The development has been stopped 8 years ago  :(

General Software Discussion / Re: files and folders emulator
« on: April 06, 2008, 08:41 AM »
Do virtual folders check for existing entries? Isn´t there a problem with installed files that link to clones? Checking for existing files is no problem to do - checking cloned folders is only ok if you check them for all files and subdirectories by CRC. No clone-tool that I tested can do this on a folder base.

At this moment I´m working 2 days at home ... sometimes fulltime for several months.

Hi, I also found some new entries. I´ll post them after I collected enough to make an update. Some programs are really hard to get. Currently I´m searching Fuzzionmanager1310 - it doesn´t seem to be available anywhere. I have Typestats now but it´s impossible to install on a vista computer or the installer isnt clean.

Mini-Reviews by Members / Re: Psychonauts
« on: February 03, 2008, 01:26 PM »
Psychonauts is really a great game! I think i´ll take a look again in the next weeks.
Nearly all games of Dave Perry (MDK, Sacrifice & Messiah) that have not been licenced products like Matrix - Path of Neo, are big gaming-jewels and very special in their way. I don´t understand why they never have been sold very good.

General Software Discussion / Re: Visual Studio Uninstaller Tool
« on: January 30, 2008, 10:53 AM »
I also installed/deinstalled/reinstalled & upgraded from VS2002/2003/.Net/2005 & next month 2008 and had no remarkable problems with lost freemem/libs or anything else ... to delete some old regkeys by hand was also no big problem to do.

296
I think it´s not Vista, it´s the installer. I removed today my $Installcache$ - everything there was a copy from the installed files - rather useless.

The hypnotic title music from Serious Sam 1 is still pumping in my ears - one of the greatest I know. The playing style was better copied later by the really perfect game Painkiller.

I´m collecting games for over 20 years now without thinking about the rising prices after several years for old games. Some things here are now traded for several hundret $ but there are also some very seldom high priced jewels I´d like to add like Panzer Dragoon Saga for Sega Saturn or Shadow Hearts 1 for PS2!
If I would need a new car I could efford perhaps several mid-class ones by selling my games collection  :D

I own nearly all of these games - only the dark eye and Nethack is missing. I played the others and must say:

Loom: is a quite short game (you can manage all in about 2 hours), but I played it at least 4-5 times now - the story is really great!
The Neverhood: A funny but hard game - but it´s not so big fun as the others - I like the claymen-idea.
Realms of the Haunting: One of my favourite . The mood is one of the scariest I know - the story extremely complex and over 2 hours of films with good actors makes it one of my biggest pearls. Undying is from the same coder/designer and has very much similarity with newer technology - but it cannot reach the scary mood of ROTH.
Outcast:  :-* The best of them all  - the best (voxel) grafic, best story, best ideas (own language you have to learn to understand all that´s been said) best artificial intelligence, cut-scenes, game-music, dialogs and voice-acting of them all. I especially like the outcast outtakes: http://www.youtube.c...es&search=Search that have been the first in a game as I know (the next one was Summoner). It´s a pity that Outcast 2 has been canceled.
Planescape Torment: Also a very good game with a very unique & epic story. One of the best RPGs I own. You cannot die ... because you are dead  :D! Noting else to say: Play it!
Beyond Good and Evil: Makes very much fun, has great gfx and it´s rather good for a jump & run/shooter/Boat-Simulation game, but some designs are disturbing me (a talking pig?). Quite cool to play, but I still prefer MDK 1 & 2 that are Muuuuch more fun)
Vampire - Bloodlines is also mentioned. I haven´t played it to extensive to say it´s really very big or not - I could change my mind when playing it a few hours longer the next time, but till now I would say the first part is much better in gameplay and story.
