Apple has their own stuff, and a niche market.
The times of Apple being a niche company have been over for years now. But it is amazing that in threads like this there is always someone who says that Apple is not as bad as Microsoft. I thought bashing Microsoft is a relic from the 90s.

First, this is about ARM devices, like: Mobile phones. (Yes, and netbooks, maybe.) Compare an iPhone to Microsoft's "secure boot" plan and tell me the difference. Also, Microsoft made clear that there will not be "a force" to lock the system. I would say, let us wait for the first affected machines before following our instinct to blame Microsoft for the apocalypse. In these days of Google, Apple and Facebook, Microsoft is harmless. Get it.

I doubt anyone here would else have cared, thinking "meh, it was...".
That said, even German "MausNet" is still alive and well. Seems to have reasons.

Before there was general public access to the Internet...before there was P2P...there was Fido. :-*
And it is still around. :)

If only it just affected the Americans...It's much more than that...This affects everybody
Sure, but I see some pattern here. The country that started international networking is the same country that tries to restrict it worldwide.
What, if not silly, is this? As if the USA were some world police. Bah.

Yes. The Register screen has a "skip me to the free version" button now.
Goodbye, KeyNote-NF. :)

You need a Facebook account to register. They started it a few months ago.

I don't hate Facebook. I just say it is wrong to use and spread it.
(And to force using it, e.g. Spotify. Lol. Grooveshark ftw.)

Just had a look at eM Client. What is that thing supposed to be? Where are the major advantages?

According to Postbox's information around, it is based on Mozilla code directly. But maybe they removed the GPL components.

It has been changed, but I don't know if this affects import functionality:

To implement some of the new features included in KeyNote NF I had to extend sligthly the format of KeyNote (.knt) files. All new elements are optional so that new version can open without problems a file corresponding to version 1.6.5. Also, with KeyNote 1.6.5 it is possible to open a file created with a later version, but in this case, if the file is saved, the alarms and information about checked nodes will be lost.

Import from the old or from the new one?
From KeyNote-NF. Not sure if they are compatible enough.

Why? Thunderbird is not licensed under the GPL.

Damn.

I would surely change to something different if there was a way to import from it. I use Evernote, but side-by-side...

If Pegasus would not crash so often, I already would have dropped Thunderbird. But it does, so I don't. Really, Pegasus has a weird UI but works like a charm. Most of the time.
