Oops - posted a link I shouldn't. I can modify my post but not delete it.

For the curious I posted a link to a site call "I Love Cats" which I have visited many times in the past with no problem. This time though I got bombarded with popups (despite having the FireFox popup blocker active).

Here is a source of some good free edges and frames. http://thepluginsite.../resources/edges.htm

Harry's edges are useful - and in JPG format.

In fact the website has tons of information and downloads for free and commercial graphics and video tools. The newsletter is excellent too and worth subscribing to.

Oh well absolutely no response to my email.

I recommend speed fan instead it works well and is free - what more can you ask. There is also a growing set of downloadable configurations submitted by users.

I looked at the rest of the package and the only other stuff I thought might be relevant were some computer clipart (Pictures of CD/DVDs, keyboards etc)

There could be a set of optional packs to download. How easy would it be to integrate these in a browser (like a set of plugins).

The license in the Open ClipArt pack is basically 'download and use as you like' ... even commercially if you want!

Good idea about rotating (if feasable) to cut down on the number of icons required. If possibly by user selected  angles (as well as standard left and right) would be good.

Here are my two ... in typical pose (sorry for the cutsie pictures).

Be warned if you get cats - don't expect any room in bed any more (I sleep in their bed now!)

Have plenty of disinfactant for when they vomit fur balls (I have just cleaned up 3 little presents from last night).

Wouldn't be without them ...

Oh the third picture is their ideal lunch ... (capture pinching the bird food from the bird table - I now have about 15 hens, cockerals and chicks that visit each day).

Find And Run Robot / Feature Request - Find folder names
« on: September 01, 2005, 07:06 AM »
It would be useful to find folder names in searches (perhaps a toggle button in the main window) so that they can opened with double click.

If this was system (or even network) wide it could make locating files a real snap - especially if a system folder snapshot/database was incorporated like we discussed for files in Program Files.

In the meantime just folders within search folders would be really useful.

this isn't the view from my window but it's not far away - Alport Heights, Derbyshire, England.

the scenery is typical for around where i am but without the standing stones. oh, and several million houses popping up out of nowhere every couple of years.

the dude in the picture is 'Reado' a friend of mine - he's now gone missing in the good old US of A. in the unlikely event that you come across someone by the same name with an English accent (he's from Derbyshire, so he'll say things like 'Eyup me duck' and swear a lot) can you tell him to get in touch with someone back home. ta.

Thanks for that - gosh haven't been to Derbyshire for ages. I love the wild feeling in winter around the Kinder area (plus the thigh deep mud ...)

Hmmm, isn't Penhill a launchpad for broomstick aviators?

Sorry no photo of my part of the world - I don't have the technology...

Something like that - actually the is a really good beacon site on the eastern end of the ridge (left as we are looking) which looked magnificent as the Millenium Celebrations kicked off across the UK.

You have the technology! Surely there must be an internet image you can link to of somewhere nearby ;)

You could try here for starters:

Just downloaded this library.

When you unpack it the is an index file (index.xml) which won't view in Internet Explorer (or anywhere else).

Anyone any idea how to view xml files like this ?

I just get this error ...

The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Required white space was missing. Error processing resource 'file:///J:/Downloads/My Download Files/openclipart-0.16/index....

    uri="http://www.openclipart.org/"'>
-------------------------------------^

Also in the openclipart-0.16\special\gradients folder I cannot see any of the gradient .PNG files (they are blank) and if I double click on the SVC explorer files there is nothing just an error in the status window saying 'bad CSS property or descriptor declaration'

Anyone any idea why this one folder seems to be not working? Anyone else get the same results (I got the same when I looked at the files online too).

The nearest hill is Penhill, the one to the right of it in the distance is Buckden Pike.

How about a photo of your part of Somerset?

Seem like good places to start

Backup Guide / Re: MirrorFolder compared to reviewed programs?
« on: August 31, 2005, 03:50 AM »
I used to use AutoSave from http://www.v-com.com which keeps versioned backups of files as you save them.

It seemed to work well and saved my bacon on more than one occasion, but like you I got a little fed up with have the disc chuntering i the background periodically.

If you need this sort of backup though it is worth looking at, and it isn't expensive.

Is there anyway that in the 'uread posts' lists you can force a thread to open at the first unread message rather than having to scroll through everytime? This would be really good for multipage threads.
