Errr, still no dice,i've extracted the codec distro and it won't install either, something is a foul.

Thanks for input from both of you,i like Dial-A-fix,it's a tweak tool for the "reader" -
in other words it's not the one touch button solution.could be dangerous but has options
i haven't seen in other tweak tools.

I'm validated, wgp, etc.Just reformated like two weeks ago...

General Software Discussion / Bloggerbot being discontinued
« on: November 01, 2006, 11:02 PM »
Source: http://mlowry.blogsp...going-away-soon.html

This is the first i've heard of this and only from here, seeing how i don't use bloggerbot i can't confirm or deny
(vote for me nov. 7,  :D ) but from the source it looks legit. It looks like Google's hello might be killed and Picasa
will take over.

General Software Discussion / Microsoft Max project discontinued
« on: November 01, 2006, 10:51 PM »
Source: http://blogs.msdn.co...t-has-concluded.aspx

Cut and Paste,

"Thanks to your participation, we were able to accomplish the goals of the Max project—to get customer feedback on new ways to approach software and services. If you’re interested in seeing where we go with these ideas, keep your eye on Windows Live."

"Starting today, we will be disabling all downloads from our website. In the next week, we will be shutting down the Max services and our team forums."

I personally never used it but read about it here and there,it was a image organizing application to the best
of my knowledge. It was some what shocking to see such a short lived project though.

Put 'halloween06' in the coupon area and get instant 20% off on any product until 3rd of November.

I use ConvertXtoDVD and love it,and i haven't heard many bad reviews from others.I haven't used any of
their other products but they look like an up and up company.Give it a look.Even when they're not having
a 20% discount they seem to have a perpetual 10% discount.

General Software Discussion / New Winzip will open rar archives
« on: October 19, 2006, 05:33 AM »
Source: http://news.com.com/...127325&subj=news

Cut and paste...

On Thursday, Corel's WinZip Computing division launched WinZip 11.0 beta, a test of the latest version of its popular zip-and-unzip software. New features include the ability to open BZ2 and RAR files, higher-quality compression for WAV sound files, and a new interface resembling Windows Explorer.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Personally i'll stick with my Winrar but it's nice to see they've finally added this feature.
I didn't know Corel owned winzip. :o

Can someone recommend a good and stable version 3.x of Agnitum?

And maybe a link to the installer too since I can only find the current version on Agnitum webpage.

A little late on the response but a response none the less.

Problem solved.
I had to uninstall dot.net 2.0, reboot,install dotnetfix(dot.net framework 2.0) then updated

Not too painful.

Maybe we can create a foobar2000 ColumnsUI configurations design group (proudly sponsored by DonationCoder.com ;D) and sweep the floor with all those cocky users showing their configuration in the Hydrogenaudio thread :D

I'm all for that  :)

163
Thank you!

I installed the update w/o any problem; btw, you could try re-install your .net framework 2.0 first, then apply the patch. (possibly your original framework was corrupted?)

Yeah it might be corrupted,it's happened in the past, bummer. This takes so much freakin time on dial-up.

Thanks for input everyone.

The link in the original post still works for me

http://www.acronis.com/mag/vnu-ati7

Then after that you get an email with login, login and on the left hand of the screen you should get a panel
of sorts that show past purchase, etc.

I want that,i've sorted through so much and have gotten lost, would you care to give somewhat
of a step by step of how you got foobar to look like that.I have foobar, love it,but have yet
to make it  look good.In other words i want to copy your foobar configuration.

Got bored today and decided to give google pack another try.Personally i think the ideal could be a good one if it was done correctly. It's not,it updates you ,with old versions of just about everything.Old desktop search, old
google toolbar, old Real Player,i stop at that cause why waste the bandwidth and my time.

I posted some of these links before but here are some of the direct links it coughed up (found with url snooper )

Real Player (Google)
http://gpdl.google.com/real-3.exe

Google Desktop Search
http://gpdl.google.c...06.627.443/setup.exe

Screensaver
http://gpdl.google.c...aver_installer-5.exe

Toolbar
http://gpdl.google.c...6.08.30_17.29.31.exe

This is a neglected ideal and the project managers should be fired, wake the hell up google. >:(

171
I still got a license for Sunbelt Kerio firewall,i used to get bsod's though, maybe i'll try it again i've been hearing good things about Comodo Firewall,at least on the wilders forums. :-\

172
It is also worth noting that Outpost version 4 will not allow disk defragmenters to move its files (self protection) or registry utilities ! You will have to disable Outpost before using these tools.

See http://www.outpostfi...owthread.php?t=18611

That's nice to know,so Outpost 4 is pretty much worthless and a complete pile of crap by that knowledge alone. This is what happens when a firewall tries to be everything,anti-virus,spyware,etc.
