Don't know how long this will be in effect; Vista is not supported with TI 9.

I'm a bit hesitant to post this, as the site seems to be one of those 'too good to be true' situations.  But I've purchased a copy of Update Patrol (formerly DeltaSpy - http://www.updatepatrol.com/) for €2 (i guess that's about $3), and all seems well.

As I understand it, the licenses offered by Serial Dealers may have some limitations compared to normal, full licenses - not in functionality, but in support, transferability, no refunds, and limited upgrade lifetimes.

One of the products they have on the site is Direct Access (http://www.nagarsoft.com), which has received good press on DC.

Found Deals and Discounts / Free VS 2005 Standard from Microsoft
« on: March 30, 2007, 09:51 AM »
Microsoft is again giving away copies of Visual Studio 2005 Standard to people who complete a couple of 'labcasts'.

Essentially, you download a couple of webcasts about how to use Visual Studio and/or .NET, fill out evaluation forms, and they'll send you a copy of VS 2005 Std (as it's a physical copy, you'll have to pay shipping):

Found Deals and Discounts / Virtual PC 2007 released - freeware
« on: February 20, 2007, 10:02 AM »
Microsoft released Virtual PC 2007.  Probably the most important change is that it supports Vista as a host and a guest OS.  It also has improved support for multi-monitor systems (but the virtual machines still support only a single monitor).

It's free:  http://www.microsoft...rtualpc/default.mspx

Found Deals and Discounts / MS Virtual PC is now free
« on: July 12, 2006, 12:28 PM »
Microsoft continues its ’Netscaping’ of VMware.  I’m surprised this step took so long, since Virtual Server has been free for a while now. I wonder how many (few?) copies of VPC have been sold since that happened.  In any case, this virtualization stuff (VMware, VPC, etc.) is fantastic - even better when it's free.

I'm in the process of moving my main system from one computer to another.  I migrated the machine to a VMware virtual machine to help keep things usable during the transition.

So far, I've been in 'transition' for months now - I've had no reason to actually set up the system on the new hardware, I'm just running the VM on it.  I'm not a gamer, so in general things are going great.

“Virtual PC 2004 SP1 is available immediately for free download. In addition, Virtual PC 2007, which supports Microsoft Windows Vista, will be available for free in 2007”

Here’s the download site:

Too bad there are not more details on VPC 2007.
