I want to fix epCheck, because it's an app that I enjoy using myself.Very glad to hear that. Looking forward to it.
In the past, I've had a show or a couple of shows have their data disappear from the Series list.I've had the same. (cf. Reply #365). Make sure you use 1.1.5 Build 166. At least it solved my problem at that moment.
What a relief!Good to hear.
Have you tried direct downloads instead of going through a download manager?Yes I did.
2) I tried to download the file with Chrome (without any plug in): same problem.
you've proven you are no dummyPheeew. What a relief!
you solved it completely and correctly -- you are all setThanks for the confirmation (and for your time)
it wasn't stupidity, its something people have encountered before.Well, I'm not convinced that the validity of the second part, proves the validity of the first part.
To summarize, your goal is to have your custom settings in your "c:\users\...\documents\DonationCoder\FindAndRunRobot" directory.No. I want them in my portable directory c:\tools\launch\FARR\AliasGroups\MyCustom\myaliases.alias
But if it's a problem you encounter every time, then that can't be the explanation.Indeed. That isn't the problem.
Do you experience the forum having trouble loading for you as well, or is it only just downloads?Just downloads. They start at reasonable speed and the speed is decrementing as it goes to eventually stop.
Ok, lets try to helpAppreciated very much!
Is it possible you switched from a portable install to a non-portable install of FARRYou're spot on.
I love Cathy's speed as well but, unless I'm mistaken, it does not handle Unicode. At least, in my tests, it doesn't.You're probably right. But that's no problem for me.-skwire (May 09, 2013, 05:44 PM)
I am impressed how well and blazingly fast Cathy is working on my 64-bits Win 7That's exactly why I'm it sooo much.-Curt (May 09, 2013, 04:53 PM)
question:It means that Cathy will stop its searching for matching items after 512 matches. I use 5000 for that setting.
What is "Hit limit [512] < 10000"?-Curt (May 09, 2013, 04:53 PM)
It would be interesting to know what was sitting there that blocked your friend Cathy from working as expectedIndeed.
but I guess we'll never knowI'm afraid not.
And the key name also isn't very intuitive...I searched the registry for "cathy". Robert Vasicek is the name of Cathy's programmer, hence "rOva".
Have you tried running Cathy.exe without any other files in the same folder?Yes. Same problem.
If you hook up some external drive (or have some other partition) and place a folder there with Cathy.exe in it, do you still get the same results?Yes I do. (I ran it from my USB-stick)
Portable only means that it doesn't need a specific location present at run time, not that it doesn't use another location temporarily.
It's just that if it works for a different user, it seems that permissions is the right path to go down.It looks like that, yeah.
Does Cathy only write to the local folder?I would think so, since it is portable.
I'd suggest checking the security for the folder Cathy is running in, and set specific permissions for your user on that folder rather than depending on the default user permissions.
