Sorry I did say that but after checking this it seems OOo can export to pdf without any extra software, but not edit pdf documents. My mistake, apologies.Actually, your idea isn't that far off though. I found that Onenote can export to Word Doc format, and that can be read by OO.-justice (June 02, 2007, 07:37 PM)
You can print notebooks to PDFs with a free pdf printer and then read out the data in OpenOffice and convert them to any data you like, right? I've not tested that but it should be possible. or export to webpage and word documents. Are you saying that OpenOffice will open a PDF and make it editable? Not sure what you mean by "read out the data in OO".-justice (June 02, 2007, 09:53 AM)
regedit /v ProxyOn.regWhere did the /v switch come from? The /s switch simply tells it to execute silently. I have never heard of /v.
I get an "Invalid number of parameters" error when executing the line with xcopy in it - so the batch doesn't finish properly. It appears you can not use an environment variable in the xcopy command. Just spell out your entire path inside quotation marks.
Other than those two benefits you may as well use the built in defragger (which Microsoft actually derived from DiskKeeper under license but with most additional functionality removed).-Carol Haynes (May 11, 2007, 12:34 PM)
Myth - "The built-in Disk Defragmenter is good enough."
Reality - "This statement would be true if the built-in defragmenter was fast, automatic, and customizable. Unfortunately, the built-in defragmenter does not have any of these features. The built-in defragmenter takes many minutes to hours to run. It requires that you keep track of fragmentation levels, you determine when performance has gotten so bad you have to do something about it, and then you manually defragment each drive using the built-in defragmentation tool." - Source - Comparison Chart (PDF)
Disk Defragmenter Limitations - "The Disk Defragmenter tool is based on the full retail version of Diskeeper by Executive Software International, Inc. The version that is included with Microsoft Windows 2000 and later provides limited functionality in maintaining disk performance by defragmenting volumes that use the FAT, the FAT32, or the NTFS file system. The XP version has the following limitations." - Source
- It can defragment only local volumes.
- It can defragment only one volume at a time.
- It cannot defragment one volume while scanning another.
- It cannot be easily scheduled without scripts or third party utilities
- It can run only one Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in at a time.
Just noticed this today at Google Labs:

Seems like a lightweight solution compared to some of the apps discussed here, but an interesting idea anyway.-Jimdoria (June 13, 2006, 04:10 PM)
maybe someone can write a plugin to interface with the best free+pay sticky notes apps, so you can add stickies from farr.Great idea. I pointed an alias to a Powerpro script:-mouser (April 28, 2007, 06:27 PM)
Hopefully he hand down source code to someone?Unfortunately, the answer is no. Quote from Bruce:-dk70 (April 15, 2007, 12:29 PM)
Sorry, but no.
Why?
1. Its got so many interal design problems now, that anyone attempting
to learn it and change it would need a lot of support from me which I
am not interested in providing. In fact, there are certain key
sections, like bar drawing and menu processing, that I fear touching
myself.
2. I don't think there is anything more of significant to be done.
If someone thinks of something, a plugin could be used.
3. There does not seem to be any more significant bugs.
