That feature would be completely awesome!

Interesting thread.  I don't know much about Beethoven (and forgive me for going off topic a little bit), but when I saw you say, Carol, that he was clearly insane when he wrote that work, the first thing that popped into my mind was Samuel Barber, an American composer.  Actually, I don't think he ever was so far as I know, but his Piano Concerto is such intense, insane, dramatic, unbelievable music!  I always think of insanity when I hear it.  And I do love it so much.  It's absolutely fantastic.  But very weird!

Very neat!

Good reminder, mouser!  I love the donation credits system; I think it is so cool.  Gives a real participatory feeling, too, as far as I'm concerned.  In my excitement and involvement with the program this morning, I did totally forget, LOL.

Wow!  Can I just say I'm not sorry??  This program is excellent.  I'm extremely impressed.  So many options.  And fast.  I feel so much "cleaner" already, LOL.  It removed a temporary patch I couldn't remove yesterday.

Thanks, Redhat.  Very helpful.  After reading this, I know I want to go with Your Uninstaller.

What I like about Opera mail is the built-in mail notifier.  I am trying The Bat now (also tried it several years ago), and the mail ticker is nice, but I don't like to keep the mail app open.  I've used MailWasher and PopTray in the past.  Was just wondering what mail notifier anyone might recommend for use with The Bat?

That makes a lot of sense, Allen.  I think I'll just go for any widgets that blow me away, use them on demand, and forget about any others.

I know I have a lot of learning to do about customizing Opera and I'm glad!

zridling, what "struck you most," between the eyes I mean, about Opera?  Just very curious.

I am loving Opera!  I'm having so much fun learning about it - it has some simply great features.  I have Opera 9, Build 8212.  Allen, I saw this the other day and then looked at your site and read about your widget, etc.  I enjoyed it all.

I'd like to say now, though, that I love the idea of the widgets, but really, if they'd only snap into place or somehow otherwise "sit" right.  The few that I've tried (not yours yet), they just seem so obtrusive.  Is this a lone opinion?  For instance, I got Knowledge Mate last night, but after running it, it just grew too much and I couldn't find a way to adjust it.

For any Firefox users, I'd just like to make a plug here for FoxyTunes  It supports many players, doesn't get in the way, and has many keyboard shortcuts.

Thanks a lot, noth.  I wish I had this program myself to test it on.  I guess I'll let them try my first one, if that doesn't work, we can try IfWinActive.

Hi, brotherS, thanks for your comment.  Looking at the person's profile, they use XP.  I get the feeling it's the transcription program they work in that's the problem, and that all is fine when not in that app.

General Software Discussion / Need advice on AHK key remap
« on: April 16, 2006, 05:41 AM »
Hi.  One of my board members works in a platform that, for some reason, enters twice when they hit the Enter key once.  So I wanted to make an AHK script to correct that.  It seems that hitting Win key + Enter does the same thing as Enter, so I did this:

Enter::Send #{Enter}

But A) - I'm not sure, since Enter is messed up for this person, that this combo won't do the same.  I can't really test it properly; works for me but then again, I don't have that problem with the Enter key.

B)  I tried doing it another way, like this:
Send {Enter 1}+{Up}+{Delete}  ; Press Enter once, then arrow up and delete

Which is a disaster because, if you run it while on your Desktop, for instance, it wants to select icons and ask if you want to delete them.  Definite no go there!  <grin>  Plus it seems to delete itself - the script!

I was just wondering if there were some other sure-fire way to do this so that it works for the person.  I am not the brightest bulb in the room when it comes to AHK, and that's a huge understatement.

I hope I put this in the right board section.

Thanks.

Quite clever, that one.  Thanks.

Oh, that's really cool, to make it so quick and easy!  Like it, thanks!  Had to get the .NET 2 framework for it, no problem.

Got it...I remember the time when it was "hitting the fan" very well!  So cautious they ditched a great thing.  That can happen!

Allen, why did AOL force them to kill it?  It looks awfully good as Waste.  Just curious, very curious!

I hope it is an easy fix, jgpaiva, and I apologize for being unclear.  I should know better, an excellent VBA programmer/friend of mine has repeatedly told me to be clear and concise and exact when expressing what I want.....eek!

Thanks, I appreciate it.

You most definitely need a page for your apps, jgpaiva.

Well, being late as usual (but I have bloody taxes to blame that on), I've checked it out.  It's beautiful, lovely!  It's all working for caps now, it's expanding fast, and it took a huge file without a hitch.  It's very usable.  Now there is one last thing I notice, and I just know I did not specify this, despite you thanking me for my testing.  Got the caps just right for words, but if you have a phrase, like "tpw" for "the patient was," and you want "The patient was," you get this: The Patient Was.  I have booked a flight to Jupiter on the chance you want to come and get me now, and do me in.   :o  But I might cancel it on the idea that you programmers are always endlessly improving, changing, and otherwise meddling with your codes.  <grin>

Thanks for your input, Carol.  I wouldn't have noticed it, not choosing space for my trigger, but in fact the majority of people do use space.  I really love that you can choose from so many triggers with this program.

Kind of fun to watch it grow!

Carol, I'll eagerly await your opinion!

Wow, all forms of caps/no caps working.  I appreciate so much all your work on this, jgpaiva.  I really do.  Each improvement has been one more step to a really cool program.  I can't wait to get off work this evening and try it out.  You are simply....

Spoiler
AWESOME!
