you might have to reinstall SC, because Avast probably quarantined it on the last quick scan.

152
Ok, if this is what you have, it's "exclusions".

Click "add" and find screenshotcapture.exe in C:\Program Files\ScreenshotCaptor.

153
Check this page for help.

http://www.ctimls.co.../Configure_Avast.htm

The problem is that the terms for configuring Security software are different with different Security software.

Making the right settings hard to find, cause I don't use Avast.

154
Yeah, need to tell Avast to allow SC.

Right Click Avast's tray icon.
Settings-Programs. I'm guessing.
Find screenshotcapture.exe and allow it or trusted...something like that.

155
No problem. Some Security programs are getting better, but worse with false positives.

156
WebRep is probably like WOT, it rates web sites.
Seems webrep may be more intrusive then WOT, preventing actions.
Here's a link about disabling or removing WebRep and Avast Security from Firefox if you want to.

http://techdows.com/...-ie-and-firefox.html

http://techdows.com/...ow-to-remove-it.html

See if SC works after following these directions.
You can always reinstall or enable WebRep and Avast Security.

"White is making mistakes, and letting Black have "Compensation".

Black may be over-confident.
Good to let 'em think they might win, to a point.
If White thought it through, he has to have more moves planned.
Them damn pawns (other nations) could be trouble.
Seems Black already bared it's ass.

158
Does the Avast Firefox plug-in/add-on have options?

159
I disabled the Avast Shields and the capture worked.

After doing this did SC work in Firefox?
Might want to check your Firefox add-ons for what Avast and Outpost added. I don't know of any problem with SC and Firefox by themselves. So I'm sure it's an add-on or some type of Avast and/or Outpost interference.

I tried deleting these rules but as I launched Screenshotcaptor again, Outpost just prompted for action again, remaking the rules, though not both initially.

I suspect you need to make a new rule specific to allowing SC to function without being intercepted in Outpost and Avast.

I use my reading glasses.
But I use them for many a text on my computer and the net.
I tried a magnify program, but after trying them, it's easier to put my glasses on.

General Software Discussion / Re: FileNanny
« on: July 18, 2013, 03:43 AM »
Are you talking about this FileNanny?

http://usitility.com/download-filenanny

Found it through an alternatives to site.
Pretty slick, imo, I can add it to the sendto menu and right click text is "FileNanny !" or any text can be set in options.
It doesn't minimize to the tray though, it's either quit or minimize to the taskbar.

162
First you could disable Avast and Outpost and see if you still have the problem.
If no problem, then it has to be the settings in Avast or Outpost.
Click allow, as in your 2nd shot, allow or disable protection for screenshotcapture.exe in all the settings you can find.

Can you turn the WiFi off?
That's what I do, till I need it.
I have ATT with a Pantech SmartPhone.
It should be an easy setting to find, but I've never used a windows phone.

« on: July 16, 2013, 12:35 PM »
Thanx, i've tried the 3 suggestions, but it's not what i want.

mybe i can make it a bit clearer.
should work like Patch text/contents but fill it with a color of my choice e.g. white

I've attached 2 Screenshots, first ist the shot, second is the shot with whiteouted space

regards
 (see attachment in previous post)

Setting the inner color to white in "Draw highlighting rectangle/circle"  also affects and works in "Patch text/contents".

edit- well maybe a little...not much even, sorry, working too fast

This can be done with the "Draw highlighting rectangle/circle shape" button.
Set Inner Color to white and Blend Mode to Normal.
Transparency all the way up, 255.
Uncheck Shadow and Border Color.
It will keep these settings for your next capture and/or your next "Draw highlighting rectangle/circle shape" operation, until it's changed.

morganmd2, can you give an example of what you are getting a shot of?
If you can, we could try to produce the result you want.

I'm not really sure what the exact thing is that he wants to do.
It didn't sound like a crop but maybe it is.

I need to end up with a fixed 1024 x 768 image with a specific part of the image in the exact dead center.
I can always put cross hairs on scotch tape on a specific spot on my screen (even the exact dead center).

Fiddling with a resizer may work. And SC has resize functions as well.
Or maybe do something with the thumbnail in SC.
Sooo...?

I could capture the whole screen (2560 x 1600) but how would I edit it down to 1024 x 768 with the chosen spot dead center?

Most any batch resizer could do this for shots in a specific folder.
FastStone
http://faststone.org/FSResizerDetail.htm
or others.

There is this little program that monitors a folder of your choosing and auto resizes. Dropresize, a portable resizer.

If you make a new folder and point SC and Dropresize to the same folder, this should work. Or using any batch resizer should work.

For Webroot, find "Identity Protection" and change "screenshotcapture.exe" from "protected" to "trusted".

or/and

Open SecureAnywhere>select Settings>select Advanced Settings>select Identity Sheld>make sure that the option "Allow trusted screen capture programs access to protected screen contents" is checked.

PERHAPS the sentiments contained in the following pages, are not YET sufficiently fashionable to procure them general favor; a long habit of not thinking a thing WRONG, gives it a superficial appearance of being RIGHT, and raises at first a formidable outcry in defence of custom. But the tumult soon subsides. Time makes more converts than reason.

It takes a while to figure out all the moves available.
I play on chess.com which gives up to 14 days per move.

Looks like Russia is a suburb of the US in this new world order.
Can't even count on Russia being Russia anymore.

The US government are such cowardly weasels. With EU and Russia failing to be what an independent separate country should be.
