Have started using it, no errors and I like it  trying to learn more Portuguese. Sorry for not having any new feature ideas and such, yet at least.

Haven't touched latest Win10 update but previously the only 'major' (I would call it major) issue I have had  - sample size of several pcs upgraded from 7 or clean installs - is Recent Items being broken. A while ago I posted about it a few places including here, finally after not finding a solution I turned it off on the problem pc.
Frankly Linux Mint updates have broken more things for me, coincidentally Samba more than once, unfixable after trying purge/uninstall/reinstall/edit conf file ...

For me I have it set to start with windows and I click the X on the bar to minimize to the taskbar, this minimized state is remembered.

Mini-Reviews by Members / Re: Mini review: The Journal
« on: October 17, 2018, 12:49 PM »
I don't think it is a function of a mainly journal, writing program to be a sort of tagging, cloning one. The todo feature of The Journal doesn't take it all the way there either and I wasn't really expecting it to personally. I would go for full fledged PIMs like RightNote for that kind of flexibility.

As for my very mini review, I just wanted to do a small part for DC and The Journal itself after winning the copy. Definitely room to write a longer review but alas...

I don't know about the bleakness of the article but one example of change without regard for quality but only with regard to change and adding 'features' is the new gmail that was forced unto users last month. I am seeing issues like this and for something as basic as email, gmail no less, this is frankly crappy and ridiculous (attached is taken from tweet to @gmail)

If dumping G+ frees up resources for realistic (G+ was never going to be a FB killer) projects it is a good thing, not that it will but one can hope.

While we are on the subject of G preferring ads in apps, this one takes the cake, I think.
Nothing in particular to any app or developer, so I have tried to remove identity.

Anand

Welcome and thanks for using the announce forum, from screenshot Polywick is something I (and I suspect others here) would be interested in trying. How about a link? :)

Speaking of Windscribe, one year deal on BdJ today

Windscribe VPN Unlimited Pro
Safeguard All of Your Online Activity
79% Off
$90 ----> $19
http://www.bitsdujou...in=todays-deals-home

I don't have big time VPN experience but from what I see Windscribe is not the fastest, overall very good though

Realized Win10 (Pro only?) has a setting to defer updates for 35 days. MS really have no clue, what's the point of 35 days specifically...

Mini-Reviews by Members / Re: Mini review: The Journal
« on: July 19, 2018, 08:41 AM »
Want to publicly thank David, the author, for being generous and allowing a free upgrade to version 8 of The Journal

About the new version, quoting the program site:
The Journal 8’s new features:
Improved searching! Searching your entries from the main UI is faster and easier than ever before–and encompasses all your active categories!
Improved security! Your entries have never been safer! The Journal now uses 128-bit AES (American Encryption Standard) throughout, and uses salted, iterated hashing to secure your passwords.
Improved topics!
Improved drag-and-drop support! Drag-and-drop entries between categories, between users, and even Journal Volumes! Drag-and-drop files directly into the entry tree!
PDF support! Easily print (or save or export) your entries to PDFs!
More word processing power!
New visual themes!
