Living Room / Re: Looking for help with a Logo

@app103 - I need it in a EPS format as it needs to be 'ready' for any use and EPS seems to be the format that everyone who speaks graphics deals with.  Plus this allows me to use it in Photoshop.

I appreciate the offer but don't want anyone to waste their time if it can't be done in EPS format.

VectorMagic doesn't do a good enough job - misses some elements.

FYI Here's the logo:

(please don't attempt from the image as I have the font and there is one more element that doesn't show on the white background)

You could try VectorMagic, iirc they allowed a couple of free conversions when you create an account.

Checking it out now.  Thanx

I could quickly and easily convert an image to EPS, but there are a few possible issues:

1. I don't know if your .psd will open in my version of Paintshop Pro. (I have had troubles with stuff made in recent versions of Photoshop)
2. It would be in an older EPS format and have a white background.

Thanx but I need a modern version of an EPS since I may need it for other uses beyond the website.  The background would need to be transparent.

Basically I need a vector version of my raster logo so I can resize to different sizes without affecting quality.

I have a personal project I'm working on that needs a logo.  I have the logo basically designed in Photoshop but really need an EPS / high quality version and don't have the skill to get it done.  Is there anyone that can take my logo and get me an EPS / high quality version back?  There is no need to change anything just convert what's already there.

Thanx in advance.

N.A.N.Y. Challenge 2007 / Re: Whats Its Color - December 25, 2006

Whats its Color now supports palette downloads.  After processing your image you can now download an Adobe or Expression web Color palette to more easily incorporate the results into your projects.

Enjoy and keep the suggestions coming...

General Software Discussion / Re: MonsterCart

I have been shying away from Zen Cart since they have not pushed an update in years (sometime in 2007).  The lack of updates worries me and I can't, with a clear mind, put clients on it.  This is why I like Magento so much: looks good, extensible, well supported and actively developed.

Due take note of the requirements for Magento - it will not work on every server.

Is this it:
http://www.monsterca...l-specification.aspx

You said ASP, do you mean ASP.NET.

Here's some info on the ASP version:
http://www.findmysof...erCart-download.html
(which appears to have been made by 1-shoppingcartsoftware.com - a company no longer in existence)

Based on what I have found I would switch them as fast as you can.  A shopping cart that apparently either was never officially released or no longer supported is an accident (read that as security breach) waiting to happen.

I would look into Magento as its a pretty robust system that is gaining steam.  mouser already posted my summary blog post on Magento to help get users started.

Seems that a DC member has won this giveaway.  Congrats to Jeff!

Just go to my blog post:

And leave a comment.  That's it.

Regulars will know that I give away software from time-to-time so this is legit.

(wasn't sure if I should post here or in Announcements)

Kuler Palettes have been added.  When the image is processed I take a certain amount of the most abundent colors in the image and connect to Kuler in an attempt to locate palettes that contain any of those colors.  The results page will displayed any Kuler color palettes that have been located.

Check it out:

Fixed now.  Server hiccup.

They removed the way nofollow worked with respect to link juice.  I should explain.  The cast a vote of approval remains the same but nofollow links now hurt the way link juice flows around a website.  This means that the nofollow links take away from the juice that would have flowed to good links.

This is why page rank sculpting has changed.  There's a new way to do it.

Sorry for the quick post without explanation.

(I would remove the links to spammers even if it has nofollow so it doesn't hurt DC's website)

nofollow is no longer valid from Google.  This was changed a couple weeks ago.

If not, I'm sure someone will chime in with an answer to suit.

Only reason for the 2M limit is so my server can stay running.  It seems that any larger and the large traffic spikes bring it down quickly.  I may try and increase it again, a little at a time, and see if the server can stay running.

194
Did you check out IrfanView?  Seems to do everything else.

195
Great idea. I will add this to a possible future upgrade.

Pretty cool application - never saw this thread the first time around.

I released a new tool on Quick Thumbnail that lets you quickly and easily crop images (whether from your hard drive or through a URL).  Like most tools I make, I make them for personal use.  In this tool I wanted to quickly crop images and produce, potentially, several outputs.  While you are cropping you can press Crop at anytime to generate a new output.

Comments?

For re-encoding video I like TMPGEnc:

For burning you can try StarBurn:

I think I found what it is.  The folders are created and used for offline browsing of network folders and files.  The computers at this location are all setup in a weird way (Windows systems on a Linux server with each system running Apache) so she is going to contact someone who can handle their server configuration.

Thanx Tinjaw.  You don't need to access Experts-Exchange to get the answer (read how here).

Thanx all

Ok.  Little more information.

Windows folder is 60+ Gig.  Most files are in folders named D1 - D8 (I think these are system restore).

Had her turn down the system restore down to 3% and clear restore points.  Still won't recover any space.  I think I am going to drive in a check it out.
