All IAP have now been reduced to 1$. Don't know if its for a limited time or not.

lanux128, can you comment on the quality of the analog audio out of the ODROID-U3? I'm running Raspbmc on a Raspberry Pi as an audio player and the Raspberry's headphone output definitely has room for improvement.

The plugin folders you see inside C:\Program Files\FindAndRunRobot\Plugins are only "placeholders" for the respective plugins. They contain a description file which another DC Program (DcUpdater) can pick up to install the respective plugin for you.

Is this supposed to work for 64-bit applications as well? (seems like it doesn't)

Gargoyle just issued an update that fixes the heartbleed bug.

To b honest, I found the minimap in Sublime not very useful and have actually disabled it. Visual Studio now has a similar feature in its vertical scrollbar where it also shows where you've actually made modifications which is quite helpful when you're making modifications in multiple parts of a document.

For me, Sublimes two killer features are its excellent multiple selections feature (which would be absolutely cool to have in VS; there is a plugin but it doesn't quite work so well) and its goto-anything feature (which VS now also kind of has; it's called NavigateTo - Ctrl+,).

Warhammer Quest for iOS is currently free. It's an enjoyable round-based Hack'n'Slay game in the fantasy/dungeons genre, with a simple (and, unfortunately, not very well documented) rule set.

It's usually 5$ with the possibility to buy additional characters and levels as IAP.

Hi phitsc,

Funny video. (c:

I believe you have the ability to remove it yourself. If not, you could at least update your post to link to the thread it was already posted in. (c:

Ok, I've added the link in a transparent font now. Thanks for the heads up. Still thinking about how to make it look like a kitten though.

...

Before reading this very informative thread today, I hadn't known that in the U.S. (= by U.S. law), if I understand well, it's perfectly legal to do what both cnet and Softonic do, vàv the respective developers? (That it's legal vàv the dumb customer, is another story, and better understable since on that side, the buggering is on purpose, given the respective small print accepted.)

...

That's actually a good point peter. I hadn't though about that.

i'm wondering if, rather than a legal solution, i couldn't add code to the installer to make it hard to bundle in this way -- make the installer detect if one of these adware wrappers have launched it, and instead of installing, throw up a big warning and refuse to install.

For the respective user that would be too late though as once your installer runs, all the crap has already been installed.

Edit: Well, I guess you assume that if you do this your SW wouldn't be wrapped like this in the first place.

http://toucharcade.c...free-games-with-ads/

I guess the day when 100% of games are free with ads will be the day I stop playing games. I always cringe when I start reading about a cool new game and see that it'll be 'free to play'.

That just reminded me of the last time I had to clean up a friends PC after she downloaded some piece of SW from such a site. What I expected to take half an hour turned out to be like 4 hours. I was close to telling her to just re-install Windows.

Find And Run Robot / Re: Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Keyboard
« on: April 01, 2014, 01:52 AM »
I've been using a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 since it's been available (i.e. many years). And while I like it I'd very much like to try a Truly Ergonomic Keyboard. One could argue that 250$ is not much for what is basically your primary tool but nevertheless, I can't get it over with to just order one.

Besides the mechanical keys it's the reduced width I'd prefer to bring the mouse closer to the keyboard (I never use the keypad).

Interesting that they got rid of the Pause/Break key it is used in combination with Ctrl to cancel a running build in Visual Studio. So I must assume that none of Microsoft's own developers is using such a keyboard (or is ever cancelling a running build without using the mouse ;) ).

Developer's Corner / Hacking should be about making things

Drew Crawford just posted a rant about how hard (impossible?) it is to land patches in many an open source project. It's an enlightening read which will actually make you think twice if you should finally start getting into OSS by starting to create patches for your next favorite piece of open source software.

Another of Drew's posts well worth reading is: Why mobile web apps are slow

He he - though I like your candidate choices, they don't seem to share the nice property of the existing names, each of which can be reversed to get the other...
yep, that's what I meant with 'interesting'. I kept the same letters though...

Interesting tidbit at the bottom of the codeproject page:

Passion for most programming languages and my kids Aidan&Nadia.

Nice names...

I guess you mean that as: interesting choice of names. What are they going to name a possible third and fourth child? (Dania and Aandi maybe)
