And this is causing a massive slow down of invoking and running of the alias. Basically I have an alias setup here which I use to pass an argument to an exe file. In the previous versions once I press tab to complete the first hit (an alias in this case) I could pass my argument and search would never occur after tab. Right now search is not stopping. I am using 2.10.01

Find And Run Robot / How to get best juice out of FARR?
« on: June 16, 2008, 07:29 PM »
No I do not know the answer but I was hoping that someone like mouser could give us some straight tips for increasing speed of search especially. It would be great if someone can give us the best heuristic score settings.

Find And Run Robot / Feature request: Quick stay on top button
« on: June 12, 2008, 09:25 PM »
I use Farr without stay on top option. But once in a while I want to keep it on top of other windows. I normally have a script running that would let me keep windows on top if needed. Since Farr does not have any standard top right windows buttons except "close" my script is useless(I manage on top option by middle clicking on minimize). I can modify my script but I personally hate to have exceptions to keep things consistent and simple. So it would be really cool if Farr has a stay on top button (a pin icon for example) that sits next to close would be great.

thanks

This is good news, this way we can view simple txt, images etc  ;D

I am testing it  and it  works very nice so far. They seem to get it right as far as referencing the original Keynote goes.

http://www.bauerapps.com/

"RightNote is a multi-page notebook that allows you to store and organise an unlimited number of notes. With RightNote you'll know where to store all those little bits of information and find them too. Features word processing, spreadsheet and syntax highlighting type notes."

131
It would be so great if we can sort when in straight browsing mode :)

132
I think this would be very handy if it is implemented. For example I would type "search launchers", which would normally take me to firefox-google. How about if I press shift enter instead of enter and that would open the result window in farr`s internal viewer instead of firefox/ie/safari?

Find And Run Robot / More responsive Esc and enter?
« on: June 09, 2008, 03:32 PM »
Maybe I am pushing the limits but I use Farr to search 10 folders(with alot of subfolders). During any keyword search Farr is not very responsive and sometimes I need to wait until the search ends until I can press enter or esc. Is there a way to force Farr to be more responsive?

134
I see that Farr would  ignore certain file types-files if they have minus rules in browsing mode. That is really usefull for searching but not when browsing.

For example if I have a rule for *.py that is -8000, Farr would not show them if I try to browse (ie c:\python\lib). Is there a way to make this work differently for different situations like searching versus browsing?

1000>>>grep>->grep $$1 $$2 | E:\Program Files (x86)\Saleen Software\scanfs.exe /path=$$1 /contents="$$2">+>^grep (\S*) (.*)

Find And Run Robot / Instant infos via aliases?
« on: May 30, 2008, 10:45 PM »
I have started using farr as info keeper via aliases. For example I have put all the ip adresses of my computers in my network as aliases in farr. So if I type "laptop wireless" it shows what the wireless and wired ip is. This is just an example to use farr as instant info desk. However creating aliases is not that instant. Would there an easier way of creating aliases for this kind of purpose? Any plugin to achieve such thing?

example

1000>>>laptop wireless>->laptop wireless 192.168.1.102

thanks

I have created an alias command sends emails. And I would like to use this alias command in other aliases. Is that possible?

This is a tool that combines launcher and autohotkey(mainly hotkeys) in a rudimentary way. Some people may find it useful. I personally use auto hotkey and powerpro for my mouse keyboard programming but this one offers launcher, nice shortcut editor and another editor where you can define sending keyboard activity to certain applications.

http://www.saleensof...boardExtensions.aspx

Also check out their other tools like scanfs and filepro. They are very useful.

I want to add pkill, timer etc plugins to Farr toolbar. So if I click on the icon pkill it will put pkill to farr edit box automatically thus I would not need to type pkill all the time. I know I can set a shortcut but It is overkill to waste shortcuts for all the plugins. Would there be some kind of commandline optionto invoke or call certain plugins from toolbar?

Living Room / Laptop security and border crossing.

I saw this thread on slashdot otherday. I am sure it will interest many DC visitors. I find it outrages that border agents can download content of your harddrive. I hope that this ruling will be turned down

Find And Run Robot / How can I enter 2 seperate arguments?
« on: May 10, 2008, 11:30 AM »
Hi
I am having little issue here. I use $$1 and $$2 to pass 2 arguments to command line emailer. First one is an email adress second one is the title of email.
I can send email successfully If my title is just one word. If my title is more than one word Farr only passes first word of the title. I want Farr to pass the full title to emailer. I use
sendemail-tab-email adress-space-title(may contain spaces)

1000>>>sendemail>->sendemail $$1 $$2| PathTo\sendEmail.exe -s mail.mymail.com:2025 -xu [email protected] -xp password -t "$$1" -u "$$2" -f [email protected]>+>^sendemail (.+) (.+)

I use it I love it. However developement of PP has stopped. I am wondering if there is anything close to PP that is easy to use ? I use Ahk as well. But PP is easier to modify with many options.
