another suggestion, mouser.. give an option to display the bookmarks file-path in the Location column or the status-bar instead of both showing the url as it is now..

Count me in on that suggestion

I personal use a full blown bookmark manager. I have over 2000 bookmarks that I must keep browser independent since I use 3 browsers daily. So really I'm not a candidate for such plug-in.
I fail to see how that would affect the use of this plugin  :tellme: How are your bookmarks stored? Maybe this or a similar plugin could launch your bookmarks.

953
I like it lots! Haven't really got used to it yet, but the same thing applied to "regular" FARR once too ;)

I had FARR crash upon first test with this latest version of the plugin, but unfortunately I forgot to take note of the crash report. If I can reproduce, I'll post.

General Software Discussion / Re: Startup manager
« on: March 25, 2007, 03:21 PM »
great suggestions, Nighted!

Mike Lin has made a similar app to StartupGuard, StartupMonitor: http://www.mlin.net/StartupMonitor.shtml
I haven't tried it, but I've no doubt it's great, having used other pieces of mlin software.

Autoruns is another great tool - http://www.microsoft...lities/autoruns.mspx

If you're looking for a tool to manage the order in which your startup applications run, I recommend StartRight - http://www.joejoesoft.com/vcms/113/

Actually 99% of my music are on those old fashion things called original CDs and are stored in physical shelves. They're not organized very well though, although my <9 months old daughter is working on a new system :wallbash:

Why don't you contact the author of StartRight about your problem? If this is the app you'd prefer, then try to find out what's wrong about it.

Many of the NirSoft utilities have been essential for several years for me. Excellent software!

959
Wow, this is impressive!

maybe I've found a new favourite music player... thanks for posting urlwolf!

I have licensed  Website Watcher ( discount  )
It is a wonderful and useful piece of software
Indeed it is! Just purchased it, as the trial got me addicted to it. :-* saved a lot of time for me already. Thanks aignes!

Congrats to the winners!!

too bad I didn't win WsW, but I guess I'll take advantage of the discount

Find And Run Robot / Re: not freeware !!!
« on: March 18, 2007, 02:18 PM »
I'd hate to see some time from now the download.com advertising freeware that you can for free 30 days then you'll have to pay if you want to use it for free   (some freeware).

I see this happening already - I'm on the same page with you on this one: I hate being lured in by the promise of a "free download" only to discover that it's for a 15 day trial. No arguments with you there...
Yeah, me too! Whenever I search for 'free someutility' or whatever I get a lot of "free download" that is apparently a free trial....  :-\ I think that's a long way from the DC way of doing it, although I did have some similar concerns as edyshor when I first came across DC.

I know I'm exaggerating with this comparison, but just imagine instaid how would the Word Wide Web look today if W3C hadn't kept the standards in check ?!  :-\
Out of curiosity, who or what is keeping these freeware, shareware, donationware standards in check?

pwood22_fr: look at the post above yours for how to get a download link

Great toys, they are!

I've used RegCmd (free) to edit my registry for years now.

you'll find it here: http://aezay.dk/aezay/regcmd/index.html (Danish author ;) )

Very simple, but has bookmarks and the features I need. Resplendence Registry Registrar looks great, but personally I'd never spend that much on a registry editor.

Living Room / Re: Choosing a keyboard and a mouse
« on: March 15, 2007, 09:39 AM »
I used to love the ergonomic Logitech keyboard I had once. Was great, until my gf spilt coffee on it :( Stupid me told her to buy a new one, and she bought one I never was too happy with.

Now I use a notebook, but recently bought a vx revolution mouse (Logitech) which is excellent. I highly recommend it, but I suppose the MX revolution is even better for a stationary computer system.

Mini-Reviews by Members / Re: List of disc catalogers

maybe you could add price/licence as well? if it's freeware/shareware/Open source...

None are particularly developed or polished.

Sounds as if there is a market waiting...
Be sure to follow those C# tutorials you were speaking of, Curt! We're anxiously awaiting OpenCurt 0.1 ;)

I could add screenshots and some more details - maybe other peoples comments, but I not doing any reviews!!
To justify this thread being in the mini-reviews section, IMO screenshots and comments should be added. I've no problem with you not doing thorough reviews, btw ;)

I use OpenExpert, too, and while I agree that it may not be 100% perfect, I don't find it a problem with those dialogs. You can drag'n'drop apps to it, too, for faster adding of applications. I did look for such a product for a long time, but until I found OpenExpert I was never really happy with any alternatives.

I'm trying to think of the app I used before OpenExpert, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was. If I remember it, I'll post it and you can see if it suits your needs better (which I doubt, btw).

Does changing these settings make any difference?

973
No, I don't mean killing it. I mean, if you launch Opera through hotkey (i.e. WIN+O or something) then if it's minimized to tray, will this hotkey bring running instance of Opera to front instead of launching another instance?

Oh, and congrats on returning to Opera ;) Wise choice, my friend, wise choice  8)

974
Hi,

I have returned from FF to Opera after a couple of months. It's ok, I learned a few tricks to make my life easier in opera (which is overall faster and more robust, no addin interaction, etc).

But I miss to have a one-key shortcut to bring opera to focus, even if it's on the tray.
AHK doesn't work because it seems that opera doesn't work under the standard way of calling windows by title.

PS tray doesn't seem to be able to talk to opera when in the tray.

Anyone as any workaround?
Thanks
Can you relaunch Opera (i.e. set it to only open one instance)? Or doesn't that work either?

975
Unless you've got .net beta on your system, installing this shouldn't be a problem though?
