hey mouser,

yeah trying it today, moved my menu sets across, all seems good with just a few hours testing.

The new -noexit doesn't seem to work though

Also when I click on LaunchBarCommander.chm, none of the menus would show, when I right clicked this file, there was a tick to turn off some protection?   this is probably more of a Windows security thing, but never had to do this on older versions of LBC.

LaunchBar Commander / using LBC with foreign character symbols
« on: May 01, 2014, 09:09 AM »
version 1.x of my bible software requires user to know some English, but future versions I'd like to help people in countries with no English at all.

How hard would be to have Launchbar commander to support non conventional characters, such as Arabic, Persian, Chinese, Hebrew, Russian etc?

if I write text in say, Arabic as menus in LBC, they come out as squares.

With XP, you had to load a language pack to display foreign language, with Win7 and 8 it works straight away.

I have support for using the Chrome browser in other languages, you can do this from DOS by typing chrome.exe --lang=AR or so.   With the menus back to front for right-to-left languages like Arabic.

At some point I'll think I'll get a ISO of the trial version of Windows 8 Arabic edition and try LBC on this too.

cheers

LaunchBar Commander / Youtube user offers LBC with malware
« on: May 01, 2014, 09:01 AM »
check this:-

https://www.youtube..../watch?v=-uNHm6OOX3s

the tiny URL does a download which Avast tells me is malicious.

Most people should realise, but best to only get Launchbar Commader directly from Donationcoder.com and support the developers

LaunchBar Commander / Removing Exit button - possible?
« on: December 08, 2013, 02:24 PM »
Hi Mouser and team,

My project is working great, but one problem.   I'm stuck with two exit buttons.

I needed to not have a conventional 'exit' button, because quitting the menu needs to run some crucially important processes.

but I need to not confuse the user with two exit buttons, so, can I have a feature to disable the regular exit button please?

LaunchBar Commander / Removing Exit feature
« on: September 07, 2013, 01:58 AM »
hello again,

really appreciate the other features I've requested you implemented recently.

Have two questions;

I made a special 'close and exit' feature - the reason is this, my app since in a hidden Truecrypt volume called X: on a USB stick.
This process does the following:-
- Force quit various applications (Chrome, VLC player, 3x different bible apps)
- Close Launchbar commander using dedicated new feature
- Close any Windows explorer windows (this would stop below from working otherwise)
- Unmount Truecrypt X: volume

Now it looks a bit silly to have two exit buttons, and I need to train my users to always exit the specific way, otherwise it might damage the encrypted volume.

I'd be happy to document to others here if they wanted to design something similar to what I have created.

One other question, would it be very difficult to add support for non-European languages?   if I change the name to some of the menus to another language like Arabic or Hebrew it comes out as ??????    Its something I'm vaguely thinking of adding for xbible 2.0 but that won't be for a long time.

thanks!

LaunchBar Commander / Re: Show us your LaunchBar Commander Screenshots

Here's mine

xbible is bible and Christian software on a USB stick, mostly intended for countries were Christianity is illegal.

LaunchBar Commander / stopping window from turning into a dock
« on: August 08, 2013, 08:00 AM »
is it possible to make the window when dragged not turn into a dock?

its just that I need to get the UI of my product consistent and for it to morph into a big wide bar I can see my users freaking out and it could a support nightmare.

I really like Launchbar Commander and almost got tuned to how I need it :)

ok, try some of this

when you exit my product, it closes various apps that are running on the X: (Truecrypted volume) before it can be dismounted

taskkill /im vlc.exe

taskkill /im Chrome.exe

taskkill /im BPBible.exe

taskkill /im theword.exe

taskkill /im ArthaPortable.exe /f

taskkill /im PidginPortable.exe /f

taskkill /im foxitreaderportable.exe

taskkill /im tor.exe

taskkill /im vipad.exe

taskkill /im tbb-firefox.exe

taskkill /im quiterss.exe

taskkill /im launchbarcommander.exe /f

echo taskkill /im ultrasurf.exe /f

x:\apps\truecrypt\truecrypt /dismount /w /quit

taskkill is just a command in Windows to shut down apps, on some occasions you need to use the /f at the end, but this "rudely" shuts down some apps, which could possibly get the app upset when it runs again.

Hi there,

I've made a pretty good prototype of the product I'm developing tonight.

I'd like to keep the UI consistant, and just usable via this 4x3 row of icons.

Dragging it to the edge, or then minimalizing it means the icons look different and I think this will be confusing to the end users.

I guess I should search but not quite sure what to search for!

any ideas, how I can turn off any of the stretching type things?

hi there,

I'm new to this app,

My name is Yosef, I'm developing free Christian software and I've must of tried 7 or 8 different apps looking for something for my project.

I set up Launchbar commander and its working very nicely.

The project is for supplying bibles to Christians where owning a bible is impossible or illegal.   As well as Christian software I'm hoping to provide a Portable version of Chrome and Proxy (Ultrasurf) software for countries where their web access is monitored or filtered.

The xbible flash drive is encrypted so designed to be used in countries like Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, so it can be carried through an airport or border crossing.

anyway its an interesting challenge.

take care

hello sir,

I've started using Launchbar today and I'm quite pleased with it.

My project sits in a Truecrypt volume.   I've set up a script to quit all applications and then unmount Truecrypt.

It works great, apart from the unmounting process sits inside drive X: therefore needs tweaking to all it to completely close.

what are you trying to do exactly?
