« on: July 22, 2005, 08:17 PM »

downloads hotfixes and goodies to C:\WUTemp.

perfect for slipstreaming. with nlite of course. :)

couldn't make up my mind where to put this, Software in the Wild or not.

Find And Run Robot / address bar replacement
« on: July 20, 2005, 02:57 AM »
an idea perhaps for v3 ;)

integration into the taskbar. sleek unobtrusive configurable functionality.

it would blow that lame windows address toolbar out of the water.
like gnome mini-commander, only much, much better.

i could go on and on about this, but won't. :D

"lame
adj 1: pathetically lacking in force or effectiveness;" yep.

General Software Discussion / Superior SU
« on: July 13, 2005, 10:59 AM »
this freeware blows fast user switching out of the water, ctl + shift + PageUp/PageDown thru accounts, password protection to keep the kids out, and so much more.

"Welcome to the SUperior SU page! SUperior SU is a utility for Windows NT (versions 3.51 and 4), Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows 2003 Server, that is not only a traditional SU utility but also a powerful desktop switcher utility that allows for running multiple shells on different desktops on behalf of different users. Smell the Unix-like power of a quasi-multisession environment on a Windows NT-based Workstation or Server and download and install SUperior SU!" quoted from site

General Software Discussion / Folder Size Explorer Extension
« on: June 29, 2005, 11:31 PM »
i've a few junk folders. ;)

"Folder Size Explorer Extension adds a new column to the Details view in Windows Explorer. The new column shows not only the size of files, but also the size of folders. It keeps track of which folders you view, and scans them in the background so you can see complete size of all files within the folder. It's very useful for cleaning up your disk. Once you get used to having that information available, a directory listing simply looks incomplete without it!" quoted from site

it made me happy, i continue to use it. :)

DesktopCoral / window classes?
« on: June 25, 2005, 05:57 AM »
hello there again,

i use a program called iEx, it hides or thumbnails program windows on the desktop.
it can be configured to exclude programs, by executable or class. i think it's called a window class.
identifying the Desktop Coral executable to it doesn't work.

here are screenshots that illustrate the problem.

iEx right.     http://img176.echo.c.../466/iexright3ot.jpg

iEx wrong.   http://img176.echo.c...2405/iexwrong9an.jpg (you can see the Coralls)

iEx settings. http://img159.echo.c...sclassesentry3zu.jpg

if you would let me know what i should enter, i will be one step closer to desktop nirvana. :D

p.s. there is some program out there i've used in the past that had a little crosshair draggy thing to identify window classes. but i haven't been able to find the words for a productive googling.

DesktopCoral / multiple corals, a suggestion
« on: May 05, 2005, 01:37 PM »
i use multiple corral folders and shortcuts to my startup folder to create this effect at boot.

http://img213.echo.c.../desktopcoral3bw.jpg

any intention of being able to do this with one installation?

or perhaps, is there a way to modify the .ini to control more than one corral?

a really superior program! :D
