The ribbon? Why? ;)
I can assume any of the following positions:
    a) you're blind.
    b) you're secretly working at Microsoft, in the Silly GUI Design area.
    a) you're just trying to nag me.

Don't want to spoil the party, but the latest IE7 build does this by default :P

a) Nice, they're listening to the users. Now get them to remove the ribbon in Office ;)
b) Maybe it's only in selected markets or sth? I updated today to IE7 and I got v7.0.5730.13, didn't have classic menus enabled.

Internet Explorer 7 Classic Menu Enabler

This is a tiny app that will enable classic menus on IE7. That means your menu bar will ALWAYS be visible and will be ON TOP of the window, like it should.
Enjoy.

Well, most hardware-bound software have a 'transfer license' option, and dongle protected software can be physically sold.

Relationship btwn. Reviewer and ProductI have no relationship with MixMeister at all, there's no money involved. I am a fan of their products (up to v6, v7 is scary), and I never bought from them (bad, bad scannie)

Intro:
MixMeister Express 6 is an entry-level DJ Mixing software that allows you to create mix-CDs easily. The lack of dual-soundcard (preview) support renders it unusable for live performance tho.

screenshot-MixMeisterExpress6-800x600.png

Who is this app designed for:
This app is designed for anyone who likes listening to music, and likes silky-smooth transitions, but has no DJ equipment. No tech-knowledge is necessary to use it.

The Good
  • Lovely Interface
  • Nice sound quality
  • Easy to Use
  • Not expensive
  • Mix-points and transitions are easy to customize.

The bad
  • Lack of beat-matched overlays (loops)
  • Lack of dual-soundcard support
  • Lack of effects support
  • Has to be ran in fullscreen mode (full.ahk or similar) if resolution is < 800x600

How does it compare to similar apps
Hmm... Let's see. It is NOT similar to any DJ apps i'm aware of (DSS DJ, Mixxx, Traktor, Deckadance, you name it). Acoustica Mixcraft comes close, but can't match the awesome beatmatching thing MM does.

Conclusions
If you're a vinyl fan, or you like tweaking knobs, scratching, or hand-mixing, this is NOT the software for you. If you want to drop a playlist, tweak the mixes a bit, and enjoy the music... What are you waiting for to buy it?

Check out what I've been able to do after a few minutes of playing with it: http://www.box.net/rssdownload/129475249/MixMeister%20Express%206%20Mix.rar

First of all, welcome to the forums.

About the game... View|Source Code hasn't killed anyone so far. Try http://americandadvs...milyguy.com/main.swf
I'm still downloading it to check for dependencies, but give it a shot.

Exam jokes, huh?
There was one with a dood hanging out of a square root, really funny... :)

Mine was running in my Delphi IDE, and I had notepad as the window with focus to test input ability while monitor was off. No input ability at all with my code, so I couldn't kill my app.

Fsck, that sucks. It reminds me when I wrote a keyboard hook... complete keyboard disabled... no fun at all ;)

562

Wisdom for Coders: Never use code to turn off the monitor and use a timer to execute it repeatedly to keep it off...you won't be able to use the hotkey to turn it back on (and shut the timer off) or use your pc for anything, without hitting the reset button.  :-[

Too late. I did it in ASM. On the first post.
      @@:
          invoke SendMessage, HWND_BROADCAST, WM_SYSCOMMAND, 61808   , 2
         invoke Sleep, 1
          jmp @b

That was all the code I compiled. After running, the monitor turned off, and everytime i moved the mouse or pressed a key it turned flashed on and back off. Half-blind, I went to start/run and tskilled my app
:)

Edit: typonese

Ooohkay, replace Hex Workshop with XVI32 (http://www.chmaas.ha...ware/xvi32/xvi32.htm), and make the image with Roadkil's Disk Imge (http://www.roadkil.net/DiskImg.html).

As for difficulty... it's not so hard, if you know what files are you looking for :)

I personally make an image of the broken floppy and try to rip the pieces out of it using Hex Workshop :)

From now on, DC Members will be required to solve a simple math captcha in order to post.
This is in order to reduce forum spam.
I attached a sample captcha, from http://random.irb.hr/signup.php

Update: The good folks at http://rodomontano.a...a.org/engcaptcha.php provided us with a SAFER captcha.
Take a look at THIS:

Good luck!

Worked for me. There you go (sorry it took so long, crappy internutz :()

567
Well, I have it almost finished and it just needs 2 lines of code and a set of hotkeys. (then I have to test it)

I am never really good with picking hotkeys that make sense and don't conflict with other things, so maybe someone else here can make a suggestion for the 2 combos that I should use this?
Win-Z
Win-X

Good one-finger combos :)

Developer's Corner / Re: Free icons for developers
« on: January 18, 2008, 06:34 AM »
But wasn't the LGPL made to avoid such kind of things?
Well...

with LGPL code, you need to either use the code in DLL form, or if you use a static library, provide your .obj files so people can re-link. I dunno how it applies in the case of icons. *GPL is a mess.

Since it's a bunch of pixels, and the icon "source" can be extracted (Icon Extractor anyone?) I think it's OK to use them.

It's a bookmarklet that grabs all links on a webpage and exports them as a text file.. Enjoy.

Hi. I tried coding it, the monitor can be shut down using
       invoke SendMessage, HWND_BROADCAST, WM_SYSCOMMAND, 6180   , 2
but surprise, it turns on after the slightest mouse or keyboard movement.

I personally doubt it can be done via software, however, a low-tech workaround might work. Set windows to NOT to suspend the laptop when closing the lid. On my laptop at least, where monitor meets the keyboard, there's a small button. Simply stick something there and the monitor will turn off, but keyboard and touchpad will still work as normal. Hope it helps.

I attached a video as proof, using a business card.

Btw... VisualWget is not Wget for windows. Wget for windows is a console mode app (which i love :))

Wget for windows: http://pages.interlo...charron/wgetwin.html

i didn't realise that, i was just following the tag-line present on the author's web-site. :)
Actually, he gives links to the proper commandline version :) http://khomsan.ph.go...lwget.wgetforwindows

This GUI Wrapper for Free Tool based on Another Free tool co... gets boring real quick ;)

Post New Requests Here / IDEA: Multiple Webcam Capture
« on: January 07, 2008, 01:02 PM »
Hi guys!
What about a small app that silently (no GUI) captures a snapshot from each webcam connected to a PC. I've been using some surveillance software to do it, but it's too much bloat for a single capture...  I tried coding it myself, but i was unable to capture from more than one camera.

Thanks in advance...

EDiT: http://www.torry.net/pages.php?id=168 <-- I might be able to code it, some good freeware components o,O

Lasyk myThemeCreator is a really easy to use app for creating mobile phone themes. It supports over 80 devices, mostly Sony Ericsson and Nokia S40 Handsets.
new_mtc_preview.jpg
mTC runs on Windows, Mac OSX and Linux, since it's Java based.
I'll stick to the official tools, but for those who wanted ease of use, give mTC a shot.
