^sorry about that -- but my point remains Contro.
If there are no recommendations from DC members, why not try Gizmo's recommendations? (Or other sources - how did you get on with ShotCut?)
You can then let us know how good they are, if they do what you want, are easy to use etc. thereby giving something back to the community.
I do this once in a year.
Usually the first attempt don't give me results. But I control , or try, the post in DC, so the next time I usually gets.
But Now I suppose I will get in the first time....

^ were they recommended by someone?
Do you not trust gizmo's recommendations? I'm not saying they always right, but if you don't get any personal recommendations, it's a good place to start.

e.g. for one app they say:
"impressive features, simple and intuitive user interface". Sounds good to me...
I prefer DC
Anyway you only mention gizmo, but don't make any proposal.

Can you say a little more about what you want to do, the source and length of the video clips, etc.?
The source is a movie of about two hours and a half.
The clips to be extracted are about 5 minutes.
The number of clips 10.

The track is damaged and is not possible to recover the images quality.

Depends how the track is damaged, if it's data corruption due to the azide layer detiorating then no, you've got no hope.
If it's due to a scratch on the DVD then you can polish it out, I've recovered quite a few CDs/DVDs doing this.

FWIW, I still use RipIt4Me if I need to rip a DVD.
Thanks 4wd.

I need a clever software able to minimize the errors and give the best vision.

FWIW I don't think you're going to find a magic pill to 'fix' the 'errors' (how would said app know what was an error without something to reference against, like the original files )

My experience parallels what shades said, ie rip the disc to your HDD regardless of the format, then convert it using the software of choice (YMMV but I use DVD Smith Movie Backup to rip to HDD, then X Media Recode to transcode).  Sure it might take some time, but if the end goal is to have a local copy in a readable format then that;s the price you have to pay

Understood.
There is not solution then.
The track is damaged and is not possible to recover the images quality.

DVDs and BluRay discs are riddled with DRM. Some of those DRM solutions scramble up the content/structure of a DVD/BluRay disc pretty severely. The original disc will work in most hardware players, but it is not a given that software can unscramble the content. Most of the time it is best to use a tool that extracts all the content from a disc onto your hard drive. The extractor is more often than not capable of fixing whatever the DRM broke.
The dvd or blueray are not under DRM in this case.
It just because the dvd or blueray has lost readability.
so a few portions of the movie are not seen clearly.
I need a clever software able to minimize the errors and give the best vision.

Best Regards.

I am trying to repair an mkv file.

Some problem is with two VOB files.
It takes me hours to obtain the corresponding iso file from the original dvd format disk (blueright).
I have obtain the mkv file with errors and when watching in two chapters there are viewing problems and audio difficulties.
Can I repair this type of errors ?
Note : trying to copy the VOB files with the windows explorer give me error don't found the original file.
obtaining the mkv files I received several errors.
The video is mostly viewable and with no problem.

Sites like AfterDawn have a lot of guides on how to comvert video files, rip DVDs, etc. Consult those first. Some of those are quite old, but are still valid.

It has been years since I did video conversion but I remember VideoHelp as one of the better sites.  Of course my knowledge may be dated.  Some of the software I used is no longer developed.  :)

Another cool thing about video help, it has a list of "remote hacks."  Many region one dvd players will revert to region free if you follow the instructions posted by users of the particular dvd player.  I had 2 models of Philips DVD player and an Oppo.  They all became region free after entering the remote control sequences listed on dvd help.

A nice link to be preserved.

'MakeMKV', 'Handbrake' or 'VidCoder', those are the tools you'll need to convert a DVD into single video files.

Don't play around with standard presets, until you have a good grasp of what those values mean and how these can affect the result.
Patience is required, regardless of the "horse power" your computer may have. Especially when using HEVC (a.k.a. x265/h265), the conversion is very intensive for RAM and CPU.
I tried handbrake and makemkv.
handbrake fails with the dvd, but makemkv is very nice.
Problem solved !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

General Software Discussion / Re: Shortcuts software

It's fairly easy (using Everything here) to search for filetype, sort by date and Alt+drag somewhere to create shortcuts.
Updating with new files is probably more difficult, you would have to keep track of what date you last did it...
You are a genious  :-* :P

The idea is create the shortcuts of the found files in a folder.
So I have the files in the initial location, but I will able to process scanning the folder with the shorcuts.

Initially I don't see the option to create the shortcut to a folder of my election. I tried with SearchMyFiles.

Not quite what you asked for, but both FileSeek (Binary Fortress) and SearchMyFiles (Nir Sofer) are file finders that can display their results as HTML files, with the results being clickable links that will open in your default DOCX program.  SearchMyFiles is free; FileSeek has both free and payware versions.  You need the payware one to export as HTML, but it's only $15 for a lifetime (all future releases) license, there's a discount if you already own a license for another Binary Fortress software, and it's sometimes been on Bits du Jour.

General Software Discussion / Shortcuts software
« on: June 19, 2021, 04:51 AM »
I remember I have a lot of software from this forum to create links, hyperlinks, shortcuts. ....

Now I would like :
Software able to search for microsoft word files (doc, docx) according to rules by its name or location (folder, subfolder, name pattern, creation date, ....) . So filter those files. Then create shortcuts in a target indicated folder.

Do you know a free good one ? May be a code snack ?
Best Regards

The process is almost done. I ask for help to a local technician who helps me.
we have problems with shut down the desktop because instead reiniate, but finally we solve the problem with a controller or driver about energy.
Now is almost finished.
The windows 10 home os was well restored and reactivated with a new license.
