Can confirm... worked for me too.  I didn't even install the portable- just extracted it and had to move a few folders.
Extracted as you wrote rather than installed, is what I meant. What folders did you move?

Installed the freeware-portable version on a thumb drive, inserted the SharewareOnSale exclusive license key and it appears anyway to be a fully-licensed version with no limitations.  Apr 14, 2017 review scared me enough to not install on my hard drive.  Seems like the best of both worlds.

Listed as freeware here.

Updated existing WiseCare 365 and Auslogics Disk Defrag programs without a hitch.  Thanks for the suggestion.

jdownloader aint a must-have, but its best app of that kind. It supports so many great features that you elsewhere miss.
Installation is a bit strange, but when done and it runs you will start to love it as i do.

Thanks for the suggestion.  Installed and found it consumed 208 MB disk space which seems rather large. Am trying Free Download Manager Lite mainly because of its smaller footprint.

Found Deals and Discounts / Re: Mailwasher Pro 40% off this week
« on: June 12, 2018, 09:34 AM »
Just received this today (6/12) and it says for the next five days (6/17?), the 51% off sale is back on.

Sumo Pro 5.6.5 available here, today only from Giveaway of the day.  Codes also enable portable version.

Mailwasher Pro discount has been upped to 51% through May 2018.
Have never seen a larger discount.  From the price list, buying a 3-year license rather than a lifetime makes no sense.

There really is no good alternative to this program that I've found anyway.  Problem is, it's not exactly cheap. Have used Poptray and then PoptrayU for a while now but the latter has bugs and isn't supported (probably because it's free).  Mailwasher Pro was on Giveawayoftheday a couple of times but not lately.

Available again at giveawayoftheday.

Found Deals and Discounts / WinX DVD Ripper V8.8.0 Easter giveaway
« on: March 30, 2018, 12:34 PM »
Article here.

2018 Easter super offer here.

DVDs are on the way out but still nice to update installed ripping software.

Conspiracy theorist point taken since according to this article, the U.S. government's warning is more about politicking and protectionism than with communications security.  Hasn't stopped me at least from buying a Motorola phone.  All the same, I'm still also avoiding any Kaspersky products.  Want to avoid all of the "I told you so's."

Didn't mean to hijack your thread.

And it comes even better: Win a brand-new Huawei P10 Lite smartphone! Together with Digiarty Software, we are giving away a brand-new Huawei P10 Lite smartphone.

Says here that the heads of FBI, CIA, and NSA recommend not using use Huawei phones.

This is nice, however my main concern is will this slow down the system?

Not in my wheelhouse so maybe someone more knowledgeable can answer this.

Thanks, man.  For those interested, found the free license key worked with the Giveaway installer version but not with the normal SUMo Lite setup version.

General Software Discussion / Re: Download manager

Recently have been using Free Download Manager with good results.  Thing is, the most recent version, 5.x, is complained about as bloatware with decreased functionality.  Advice which I took was to install the last good version, 3.9.7 build 1627 available at Filehippo.  Integrates as seamlessly with FF plugin Flashgot as NetXfer did.

DownloadThemAll! worked great but this works a little better.

Via Consumerworld:  Free Windows Software - Get up to nine different Windows software packages (not trial versions) for free until November 5th. Choices include a DVD ripper, a password storage program (used by MrConsumer!), a PDF editing program, and more.

The name alone is reason enough to try it.

why are they several times saying that the bundle is version 2017 (click "Get this deal")? Am I to buy a lifetime key for version 2017, and 2017 only?

I bought a lifetime license to WinPatrol PLUS almost ten years ago and its always updated to the newest version at no additional charge.  So in that case, lifetime meant just that or at least as long as they stay in business.

I've used WinPatrol PLUS for years now with good results.  Has allowed greater control over what crap gets on my hard drives, warns of unwanted system changes after program installs, and other useful stuff all without being a system hog.  Can't recommend their other offerings since I've never used them.

Skwire Empire / Re: Release: sWeather (tray-based weather app)

Thanks for fixing the forecast link.  The radar page still doesn't load (as it used to) and I'm thinking that it's because is just another site that won't work with Firefox or Firefox with certain plugins.  That's becoming more common.

Over the last two days, found Full Forecast and Radar link issues: 1) The former's page ( times-out (server not responding?), 2) The later ( doesn't load the radar (page script change?).

I'm running v 1.6.8 build 1.

Everything else seems fine as before.
