Scores! YES!!! Wonderful wonderfull wonderfull Nice to hear you're so excited. :-) Actually I was thinking about the scores as I've built them now and I'm not sure if I'm happy about it. But I will definitely keep some kind of score in the program. When is this program going to get it's own web page?
Real Soon...! :-)

Wow! That's a great tool that I'm starting to use right NOW! I can figure how much time I spend working on my girlfriend Web Site and then deal these precious minutes (hours!) for some AirLoose ! ) Keep up this great application. BTW, could we, in a future version, access the settings directly from the WorkCoach window, it's a bit annoying to go back to the tray for fixing some new tasks. Thanks and congratulations! FranƧois

Arjen, a very nice piece of coding. I like this great little utility. What would make me go "Wow!" would be what could be called a learning mode where the tasks which are currently lumped into the unknown category are recorded in a list from which they can be assigned either to a current project or a new one. Perhaps a double-click on Unknown could bring up the list with a checkbox against each item then an "add to project" and "new project" button? That would make the program SO easy to use. Hoping this project is still alive Jess

Great idea arjen. For unknown tasks, a jharps suggests, instead of a leaning mechanism -which could be hard to implement- one could use tags.
A tag cloud with the recent projects (font size associated to activity/recency/any var) and drag-and-drop tasks to projects would be really cool.

Perhaps my use of the term "learning mode" was misleading. It would not be difficult to implement: WorkCoach already stores all the required info in the Documents and Settings/Username/Application Data/WorkCoach folder in an xml file called windowlog-yyyymmdd.xml. This lists all the windows which were active whether attached to a project or not. I'm guessing that Arjen uses this data to calculate the time spent on the Unknown project. My suggestion is to make this data available to the user through a suitable interface such as a checklist. It would be a relatively trivial programming exercise to copy data from the windowlog-yyyymmdd.xml to the projects.xml file (also in the same folder) in response to user input.
Jess

Hi all,
Thanks a lot for all your comments and suggestions. I haven't done any work on WorkCoach lately nor have I been active on this forum, so my apologies for the late reply. I would like to make some improvements to WorkCoach in the future, so I guess you could say the project is asleep but still alive. :-)
We'll keep in touch...
Arjen.

Hi Arjen,
This is an excellent tool .. thanks for coming up with this.
I have always wanted to time track what I do, however was not very comfortable with the available ones, since I had to manually change the tasks - by associating a project to an active task and thereby automatically tracking time, this program simply becomes one of the best programs I have seen..
It would be nice if you could continue developing this tool.. I would'nt mind donating to this cause..

Yes, a great tool. The only reason I never used it is because of the CPU issue (always between 15-30%), mentioned at the beginning of the thread. Otherwise, I'd gladly use it!

I'm not sure if I understand you... What doesn't work and who reported it?

It was reported by a user, using the "report to moderator" button. Here's the quote: Not a very thorough description, i must say... I was just wondering if anyone had any trouble.

I was wondering or these 2 things could be aplied:
Keeping record, even after reboots, of the total time you worked on something and make it resetable.
This 2nd thing would be nice: G15 support. It is not very needed, but when it is not to hard, it would be great!
And maybe some tray icon changes on a task changes. Maybe the clock will turn green or something, some things you change. Like change the profile, and when its active, this should be shown:(clocks in diferent colors e.g.).

I do not know if anyone (especially the author ) reads this thread anymore? I would like to request a feature (or a minor modification, really)... In order to measure my average productivity when actually working I have come up with an Excel sheet that nicely calculates my output and gives results. Unfortunately, if there are any distractions (and with a small kid in the house there are many!), I have to „mark” the beginning and the end of the idle period, so that only the time I am really working is counted. This is quite inconvenient, that is why WorkCoach would come in so handy. However, at this time I have to put in the WorkCoach value manually, which is not that convenient. It would be much better if the Excel sheet could access a file with WC data. As they are saved anyway, all it would take would be to save the logs every minute (or every five minutes, if the overhead is too large)...
