Mini-Reviews by Members / Re: LogMeIn Hamachi²
« on: October 16, 2010, 05:15 AM »
One thing to note is that it is impossible to turn off auto start in hamachi2. This is the sole reason I am using the latest version of the first iteration of hamachi when I need it.

I'd like to remind people that going into offline mode on the starcraft trial lets you play the singleplayer portion without spending game time.

Wraith808. I am currently downloading this behemoth (My god, 7gb). What would your username ,or however you identify other people, be so I can find you?

What's most hilarious is all the apple fanboys that are hating on the guy in the youtube comments.

DC Gamer Club / Re: Alien Swarm - another free game from Valve

It's very polished and has considerably more tactical depth than I anticipated. But it might just feel that way because I have to babysit all the other 3 teammates I played with. They kinda sucked (I am looking at you Krishean and Shamurai).

Fuck yes, I am totally looking forward to this. I saw news of the mod back in the day but got kinda turned off from it because I thought it would cost money. I too played the original mod but it didn't offer enough to actually make me want to buy the game. There just wasn't enough depth to it. But with the release of it as a free game, I'll totally be playing this. Any one up for a game when it launches?

The other music video the guy has on his vimeo account is also very trippy and interesting.

Ape School - Wail to God

edit: Oh wow, reading comments on the videos lead to even more interesting videos

A amateur music video to Rafter's Juicy

Living Room / Second Wind - beautiful student animation

I found this small animated short from a blog post by another aspiring animation student. It's really sweet, sad and beautiful. I couldn't help but share it. Enjoy

If by hours you mean a maximum of 3-4 then you're right. The game is really short

My god, you people are nutters. Why do you keep buying games when you have so many old ones to pick from? I can understand wanting to save money by buying stuff that is on sale. But think of all the money you would have saved if you had played what you already own.

My brother f0dder brought me here for some reason. I believe he tried to get me into programming even if that kinda failed (I still want to do it at some time but I have a too short timespan attention span). I liked the community and atmosphere here so I sticked around.

Edit: yeah, my bad :|

I've downloaded a few trials but haven't actually gotten around to installing them and doing some editing as I haven't actually figured out what I want to make yet. But it's nice seeing so many alternatives to the really expensive professional software suites. I didn't know vegas had a amateur edition, thanks for the heads up 40hz

I have been wanting to do more than simple video editing for some time and MS movie maker has begun to show it's faults more and more as I have been using it. I have shifted slightly over to VirtualDub but that too has a lot of stuff I would want and is pretty technical compared to MS movie maker. What I am looking for is a above basic level video editing program that can do special effects above just overlaying filters and such. Even with those requirements I am hoping I can find something that doesn't require a 2 month learning course to understand and hopefully it would also be free or at least cheap.

Any suggestions?

Sniper Elite also has some pretty detailed hitboxes, you can detonate grenades on your opponents belts.

What made portal so great was that it was just as long as it needed to be, any shorter and it would have felt short. Any longer and it would have been too long and repetitive. I just don't see the gameplay needing a sequel.

Wraith808, playing the second game before the first in this case seems like a bad idea as you apparently get a more engaging story by continuing your current arch from the first game into the second using a save import feature
