Make It and They Will Come
I really like the unique concept of DonationCoder as I've been a big software fan for well over 25 years and the 'wow' factor of seeing software perform a task that never seems possible still persists to this day. Having a site which supports this, fosters discussion about how software could/should deliver, as well as delivering unique software gains my eternal respect. I honestly believe that for DonationCoder, 'make it and they will come' can only be an accurate reflection.

Lots of tabled info, included the version or date when lots of browsers died.

What's the Best "Matrix" Screensaver?

blog clipart
I'm sure there's been many of these around, but here is a nice donationwareMatrix Screensaver by Kelly Softwarethat mimics the one in the movie, even sending you messages if you want. Well done.

Website: http://www.kellysoft...ssaver/Matrix_ks.asp

What i like about this one is the good multimonitor support.
Anyone know any other good Matrix-inspired screensavers?

Creative's case against Apple's infringement of patents in iPod design has resulted in Apple backing down and coughing up $100,000,000 to Creative.

Here is the BBC version of the story: http://news.bbc.co.u...business/5280736.stm

Inline Search Highlighting in Microsoft Word (and other programs)?

blog clipart
A member on our forum asks:

Is there any way to get inline search highlighting in word?
i.e., all the occurrences highlighted? and tab completion? (I know open office does it). These are the two things that keep me going back to vim...

Our readers respond with a solution to the request, plus a bunch of helper utilities that could come in handy for related tasks.

Sh*tware - A New Site for Voicing Your Software Frustrations

blog clipart
While I'm usually pretty quick to offer praise for software that I appreciate, I don't usually rant too much about the ones that drive me nuts, and my rants are generally pretty tame.
...
Since most places like to keep clean, I figured a small spot on the Internet for airing out dirty software might be useful or at least cathartic. So if anyone feels like ranting about something, there's no bad word filter.
-Ryan

The sh*tware forum is pretty empty at the moment but given the state of the software industry I wouldn't expect it to stay that way..

SkyIDE: A New C++ IDE For Windows (alpha release) - Public Download Now Available

skyide.png
This public version probably still contains undiscovered errors. Just let me know if you find some and I will try to fix it ASAP.

Please let me know what you think of SkyIDE. Please also understand I am the only one working on it. It's a one man band :)

Website: http://www.skyide.com
Download: http://www.skyide.co...ds/SkyIDE_Alpha5.zip

This is the first public release of a new C++ (and other stuff) IDE for windows.  It was submitted to our C++ Builder Programming Contest.  It probably still has a long way to go but it shows a lot of promise too, and the author is very interested in hearing bug reports and feature requests.
