Thank You To The Members Of DonationCoder.com
« on: July 29, 2007, 09:56:13 PM »
Once again I made the mistake of joining a forum, only to have it turn into a flamewar less than 48 hours later.  I am reminded of Benjamin Franklin's saying, "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results." It has only just dawned on me that there is no such childish behavior on this forum and I wanted to thank everybody, all 50K+ of you, for being civilized. Thank You.

was there ever civility?

Back when the internet was newsgroups, irc and bulletin boards we already had flame wars and trolls.

I'll second the sentiments. DC is the only place I just hang out.

Ahh flames. Whatever Happened to Civility on The Internet?

I think Jeff Atwood doesn't surf the Internet that much. If he thinks that's uncivilized, then I don't know what he would say of some of the forums I go to...

YEAH! Flame war!! w00t!

I agree with iphigenie. The internet was empty of respect far before forums were born. But it's also part of the whole mix, and you can't deny it's quite hilarious how things turn up sometimes. tinjaw, share with us a link!
