Mouser,

Where does dc-updater (DCU) store/retrieve the web (Remote) location of files like FARR Plugin Version file and Update file.

DCU has been complaining for some time about "get update failed" for KlipKeeper.

DCU is looking for KK files at:
Remote Version File: http://carrolld.dcmembers.com/klipkeeper/versioninfo.xml
Remote Update File: http://carrolld.dcmembers.com/klipkeeper/klipkeeper.zip

Apparently, the files are now at:
Remote Version File: http://carrolld.dcmembers.com/klipkeeper/versioninfo.xml
Remote Update File: http://carrolld.dcmembers.com/klipkeeper/klipkeeper.zip

I would like to (if possible) manually edit the data DCU is using so it looks in the correct place for KK files.

Kevin

--------

Update:

I just did some digging, and I found the file ...
%ProgramFiles%\FindAndRunRobot\Plugins\KlipKeeper\KlipKeeper.dcupdate

I backed up the file and then edited it. I changed "donationcoders.com" to "dcmembers.com", in three places, and dc-update now shows KlipKeeper is "up to date".

I just now tried the (kk backtick) command:
kk`
and
kk `p

and I find that it now works correctly.

Either that, or it is intermittent and nothing has really changed recently.

For me, it was never intermittent ... once it stopped working, I tried it many times and it always failed.

I guess it would be good to know if others find that it is working again, especially those that had problems with it before.

Thankyou for the pointer to the changes necessary in the dcupdate file. I had been trying to figure out how to install KlipKeeper and had got nowehere, until I read your posts above.

Please, tell me weither it possible to klip items back to clipboard with respect to the original encoding?
e.g. if once I've copied word "СЛОВО" to clipboard (UTF-8) after klip-ping it looks like mess: ÑËÎÂÎ (ANSI encoding?)
Please, advise

Hello:
I'm having trouble getting this plugin to work. I type in "kk" and I only get the typical FARR results. Am I doing something wrong?
Kind Regards,

Okay, I actually have a problem this time. When trying to access one of the clips from the FARR window I immediately get the following message:

Access violation at address 77124D0A in module 'OLEAUT32.dll' Read of address 00000001

What can I do to resolve this issue?

Maybe it is related to the post at: https://www.donation...ex.php?topic=18622.0

Start with that first and report back then we will go from there if needed.

that is almost surely the problem -- there is a conflict between some versions of fscript and fsubscript and the more recent farr versions -- we need to get all the fsubscript and fscript dlls up to date.

Okay, I'm confused. What do I need to do? LOL I ask you, mouser, as you and I know each other a bit and you know my skill level. :)

Okay, I'm confused. What do I need to do? ...
siouxdax,
it looks  like you need to download the dll on this page
http://e.craft.free....r/farr/FScript/1.19/

then:

1. grab the latest fscript.dll from ecaradec's page [link above]
2. rename it to fscript.dll
3. exit farr
4. replace any copies of fscript.dll in your farr plugins subdirectories with this new one.
(if you have multiple fscript-based plugins installed, there may be more than one copy of the dll! dont leave any files like fscript_bakup.dll or fscript.dllbackup in the directories or those dll's might get loaded)
5. restart farr

I think it should be clear up to step #4 at least?
If you've trouble there finding those dlls report back & someone will help
Tom

tomos & mouser:
Thank you so much for taking out the time to help me. Replacing the dll's seems to have done the trick. There were only two other instances of fscript.dll; one in GooglePlus and one in FSubScript, both of which I applied the dll that you said to download. I'm assuming that this will not adversely affect those plugins. Just in case, I saved the old ones. :)

Is there a way to keep a group of entries in kk permanently?

Not at this time without going into the KlipKeeper settings and selecting all the entries you don't want and hitting deleting selected.

Very useful plugin. I see no use for ClipX any more. I have set the hotkey Ctrl+Shift+V to bring up FARR with "kk" pre typed and have set digit keys to launch the item.

This might not be obvious for new comers:

If you want to paste the selected item into last active text taking application, go to KlipKeeper's settings by typing:

kk `p

and enable 'Copy & Paste to Last Active'.

Updated to fix a bug. See the KlipKeeper Homepage for download or use DCUpdater to update.

First of all, thank the author of this Great plugin!!!

I have a suggestion for Klipkeeper: paste klip but don't move the klip to the last klip
