Catfish cataloger - improved version
« on: February 18, 2007, 07:48 PM »
Hey guys,

I've been using catfish 1.9 ( for many years, and have all my 2,000 and some CDs catalogued in catfish format .cf4
What I need is a program which can use or somehow convert the catfish extension files (so I won't have to catalogue those 2 thousand CDs of mine again with this new program), but which has additional features over catfish, such as:
1. give a txt or html file (with links of the hits maybe) after keywords have been searched
2. ability of using boolean searching (X AND Y, X OR Y, X BUT NOT Y, "X Y" etc... just as in the Internet searches in google...)
3. maybe ability to carry out different actions on search results (such as, calculate the total file sizes of the search hits, even if the files or folders are in different CDs, list or not list subfolders, export as txt or html or csv files etc..)

Is that possible?? Could anybody out there help me out with this??

please notify me at:

The first part of the link is working:

I´ll check the sourcecode - perhaps the Text-Export could be automated. Before that you also have to know which program´s able to import the datas and what´s the import-format.
