my main reason for keeping faith with CLCL is all the templates & plugins

If you run another clipboard enhancer at the same time as CLCL, and just go through all your CLCL templates, sending them one by one to the clipboard, you should end up with them all in the new enhancer, easing the pain of testing and transition.

Plugins are a different matter...

I expected to like Clipmagic more than I did.  The automatic assignment to categories is nice, but I found I didn't really use it.  Its popup window is too small (at least, the default one is) and it seems to "steal" the Alt-Down key, which is one I use a lot in Total Commander.

I've been using ArsClip and CHS in tandem recently.  ArsClip's quicker to pop up, CHS has more options.  Fortunately both are no-install.  The next computer I'll be getting at work will apparently be crippled - I won't be able to install anything because "that's policy" - so I hope I can get by with no-install programs instead.

I tried CLCL but I can't find a search option. How can I search for a word if I have 100 clips

Hi
thank you for your lessons in this topic
http://www.donationc...index.php?topic=2866

but I can't do simple thing by CLCLmacro - to run program with parameters copied to clipboard. The parameter may be path to folder,  or may be URL to send to appropriate program
Are there other plugin for doing that?

Hi,

I've been using CLCL for more than 4 years and all I can say is that it became indispensable to me, the only two flaw that I found during all this time are:
1. Unicode text isn't shown in the history/menu but only in the viewer
2. It's possible to select multiple items at once in the viewer but it's not possible to copy it (ie. copying the entire history content in one shot with Ctrl+C)

Does anybody know if there is a similar program to CLCL that support the two features mentioned above?
I tried ClipX recently and I really like it the unicode support in the menu but the paste function is not so handy as in CLCL that it's automatic when you select an item.

Really a pity that nakka stop the development :(

thanks voxel

Can anyone give a quick summary/overview of what is epecially good about CLCL?
(Be it workflow, features, etc. whatever.)
I skimmed this and the other related thread but didnt really get a sense of that.
TIA :-)

Another query:
can it store vector clips? (I presume not, but dont hurt to ask)

@tomos: I think for me it would be the simplicity and ease of use, I'm just interested in text not images, and 9 out 10 times I want something I just copied - not something I copied an hour ago. So I just bring up the menu, I usually spot the text I need very fast and type the letter of the item (I use a-z). It also brings the copied item back to the top of the list so if happen to need it again its right there.

So for me it is very fast and easy to use. There are many clipboard helpers but I find most cumbersome to use as there are too many options or I need to press to many keystrokes or even use the mouse or they "take" up too many hotkeys, are too buggy etc.

Before CLCL I used a very similar program on Windows 98(!) - it used the same menu approach, but it had some issues under Windows XP and then I found CLCL - so I didn't have to change the way I worked.
