Having problems registering. Says the license server cannot be reached. I've even went so far as to suspend my firewall and still nothing. Any help greatly appreciated.

Appreciate your offer of the free key today. I already own a copy of Flexense's DiskBoss Pro with rule-based file search. Are there differences between VX Search and DiskBoss's file-based search?

Here is a short list of differences: 1. The GUI interface in VX Search provides all the power, but in a much simpler interface. DiskBoss is scheduled to get the same search interface in v2.0 http://www.vxsearch.com/product_overview.html2. VX Search categorizes search results and allows one to filter results and perform file management operations on filtered results. For example, search for all types of images, double click on BMP files in the categories view and you will see BMP files only. Now, you can select one or more BMP images and copy, move, delete, etc. http://www.vxsearch.com/file_search_filters.html3. VX Search provides the ability to search using regular expressions: http://www.vxsearch.com/s..._regular_expressions.html4. Users can search files in multiple servers and/or NAS storage devices by specifying a list of host names or IP addresses or in the entire network. Search in multiple servers is performed in parallel using all CPUs/cores available in the system. http://www.vxsearch.com/s...vers_and_nas_storage.htmlMost of these new features will be gradually added to DiskBoss, but right now these features are available in VX Search only.

Hey - thanks - just installed - looks promising - will compare to Everything Search Engine and Copernic Desktop Search Pro which I run - what happens to my license if my computer is re-imaged or the the software fails to load for any reason after the promo is up? Can I get the license renewed?

Thank you! I've just installed the program and tried a simple search to find text file (TXT) file. When I double-click in the search result pane, the program shows file properties instead of opening it according to file association (in this case open with Notepad). I also miss standard context menu like in Windows Explorer or Everything.

Hi, Got it on my Windows 7 system, I like the idea of categories (does it have a catch basin of "misc" for every file type not distinctly caught elsewhere ? ) Nice giveaway. My XP system was in transition with a crash of sorts so I was not able to get it there, well, I was busy trying to get the replacement system up and fergot to go back . Also, tell us about the Premium, or High-Grade .. I only looked quickly. Network ? Ok, I'll read the website after my systems are stabilized. Steven

Does this or diskboss index the files? Or is it a live search every time it's invoked?

DiskBoss and the current version of VX Search perform a live search.
The next version of VX Search will include an option to scan one or more disks, directories or network shares and save index files.
For file systems with saved index files, the user will have the ability to select how to search: instantly using an index file or using a live file system search.

App seems to work great, but it does have one annoying downside.
If you're like me you would prefer that installers DO NOT put entries into the context menu without your approval. What's even worse is NOT ALLOWING the user to turn off the context menu entries. . .
Buyer beware VX Search Pro inserts a context menu entry in several places.

Thank you for your feedback. This issue will be fixed the next product version, which will add an option to disable shell integration. Expect it to be available during the last week of Nov-2011.

I've been using this over the last few days, and quite like it. It's fast and does what it says. It's certainly a million times better than trying Windows search.
