IDEA: Space Invaders game to practice memorization
« on: September 11, 2011, 10:14:07 PM »
I don't know if this is simple enough, but here is the idea:

Remember the game Space Invaders?  Aliens fell down from the sky, and you shoot at them.  Music increased the drama.

So my idea is a way to practice things you want to memorize:  say you want to memorize the capitals of the US states.  The state name would fall from the sky, instead of the alien.  If you type in the capital before the state name hits the ground, you shoot the state name out of the sky.

The program should allow you to input the info (question/answer) you want to practice.

It can be made more complex by adding options such as if I get the answer to question 1, then question 2 will appear, if I get question 1 wrong, question 1 reappears until I get it right.

Someone posted here (maybe a year ago?) about a game - almost exactly as you describe, but not customisable. Cant remember the name, hopefully someone else can.
